Been some days, at least, since my last log.
83 Crewmembers are dead. We are engaged by a Liberty warship, and had to flee. They got the jump on us. Damned civilian sensor array.... While we inflicted damage, we sustained more ourselves. I have attached the casualty list to this report for later review. I owe their families the truth and closure, if at all possible.

After brief repairs to seal the hull, we made our break. Headed for Inverness, we managed to clear the jump hole without incident, and made our way to Freeport 14.
Turned out there was a welcoming party. I exaggerate, they weren't for us. Several independents and a Technocracy Starfighter were clustered around the Freeport. I've been dreading the inevitable run in with the people of Auxo for days. But, things went well...

All present seemed understanding of our situation, and we negotiated docking privileges with the Freeport, exchanging salvage from the construction of the John Rorke, as well as a fund of credits, for some repairs, as well as a restock on supplies. It'll get us a little further.

Past that. An individual going by the monitor of "CS" struck up a conversation, and brought me and the staff up to speed on a situation... Liberty has decided Pennsylvania is less 'Protectorate' and more 'Territory', and the Zoners took that about as well as i would have predicted. With a few drinks and some very hesitant conversation, i've managed to secure a comm to the Zoners in Penn... Maybe that'll be something worth fighting for. They have every right to turn us away. Infact, given how this all started, i expect them too. Truthfully the John Rorke isn't in any real shape for a war anyway. She's built out of three different hulls for gods sake, and only two of them were Judicators.

Words of support aren't much... But its something, and i hate sitting here doing nothing.
