I was not even on my own ship. And I have no idea if Yoshiko's ship got the logs after getting cracked open...
I could... try and look if the Kay recorded anything useful, apart from...
Rebecca did send me a message. She asked me to hear her out. I did not respond, I did not want her to track me down.
Yoshiko and someone else told me that she tried to talk to us before she opened fire. She knew we were fucking busy, in the most literal sense, if you really need to know. I do not think that is a detail you really needed to know about. But apparently everyone finds it super interesting when I am intimate with someone, especially when they are getting paid for it. If that makes me a prick, cool.
Apparently, according to Yoshiko and that other person, she tried to space-walk her way onto the Kay while I was gone. According to them, Rebecca got engine-washed when she got too close to our ships. According to Yoshiko, it was an accident on her part. Does not explain why Rebecca was space walking so close to us, why she was trying to get to the Kay and why the fucking hell she needed ME to answer her dumb questions. As if I am the one to know anything. Does that make any sense to you? It does not to me. I do not walk up to a couple doing it in their car and then try to blow them up the moment they do not answer me. I do not try to break into their car for whatever reason.
Hell, if I had known about that when I hired you, I would have told you. But Yoshiko and the other person told me about that little detail afterwards. That does not make me a liar. That means I genuinely had no idea. Not that it changes anything. She was trying to kill us, she was out of control, and she lied to you about the condition of the ship. There was no way we could have done anything about the mine. No repair bots, no engine. Nothing justifies what she did. Nothing can make up for that.
Just accept it. Your way to solve this failed. You should just have helped me to vanish. You would have earned your money in a legit way.
