Greetings to all of my fellow Citizens of Sirius and the numerous business persons whom I have encountered in my decades of doing business with and amongst you all.

I am David Jamison, while I am a Bretonian born and grown on Planet Leeds, I have been an active citizen of Greater Sirius all of my life, having spent much of that time with many of you out there amongst the planets and stars. I have toiled alongside many of you, scraping a mostly modest living amidst the beautiful desolation and mortal perils we have all encountered out there. I often flew with both Bowex and BAF[MN] to keep the monetary wolves off the door.

Many of you will know me as the owner and operator of Redline Inc -The business that I inherited upon my father's death as a tiny ores and metals hauling operation, owing to such metals and alloys being a large part of the Bretonian economy. I managed to grow that old family business into a reputable (I dare hope) business operation in the intervening years.
This enterprise is still engaged in the work of moving materials to and fro between the bustling manufacturing and refining outfits of our several Houses. It's honest work which has paid well and I have no reason to complain. I have managed to live quite well and have been rather fortunate, all considered.

It is odd, even to myself to say that fortunately, although they lived a long and decent life, my parents did not survive to perish as so many did in the desolation of Planet Leeds so many years ago. Much of my extended family did, however. Afterwards, as a radicalized youth, I flew under the banner of the Leeds Militia against the Gallic aggressors and both witnessed and participated in actions that no decent man would boast about, but for which I bear no regrets.

I have recently made a rather bold move to increase the fortunes of Redline Inc. by investing in a few small bases from which to increase our ores traffic by increasing our localized ores storage capacity. However, the additional costs of maintaining these bases and defending our ships from aggression in the further reaches of Sirius proved to be significant enough to destroy this venture's profitability. As such, I have shuttered these operations and turned their capital to other ventures.

I am no longer a young man, having spent many years in the dark and dirty crevices of Sirius. Out there I have greatly experienced both the best and the worst of human behavior towards other humans. Sadly, the percentage of the latter has woefully increased of late, whereas honest pilots and laborers are increasingly subjected to harassment, property damage and loss of both ships and life in their simple pursuit of eking out a decent living for themselves and their families.

Since returning the operations of Redline Inc. to it's previously modest level of operations was relatively cost-free, and having watched the effect of unlawful predation upon both my own business operation and that of many others, I have decided to use the additional capital acquired to initiate steps to assist my fellow administrators in protecting their people and assets from this growing scourge.

As such, I have initiated contact with the House governments regarding the provision of trader Convoy Protection services within their houses under the banner of DrengrCo and financed the construction of a base to headquarter these operations in Liberty. An earlier, perhaps overly bold attempt to build such a base in Galileo was rebuffed by the resident Rogues there. Fortunately this occurred in the early phases of construction and the financial loss was minimal. I'm seeking to base these operations within Liberty due to it's central location, for logistical reasons but also due to creating this new group as an affiliate of Interspace Commerce, who already have a sizable base of operations involved in Assets Protection and Insurance services within the several houses of Sirius and existing relations with those governments.

This group will operate as a Confederation of pilots who have a common interest in the protection of the many business interests throughout Sirius. While the group will be quasi-military in style for the sake of the inevitable necessity of combat organization, all participating pilots will be equal members thereof with respect to the division of any profits made in these operations. Therefore, we encourage any pilots of a like mind to join us in this endeavor. Obviously, those with combat experience are preferred, and applicants will be tested on their abilities to determine to which role they are best suited.

We hold no illusions as to the enormity of the task which we face. The unlawful forces that we oppose are in many cases bold, competent and well equipped. We will certainly face an uphill battle in order to make a difference. This fact is one reason behind the name DrengrCo.

A Drengr, in its original, most literal meaning, is a rock that stands alone out at sea. From this image of a rock fortress standing alone against the buffeting waves stems the meaning of Drengr for human beings
—a person with reckless courage in the face of whatever comes along.
