Out of my hands
We got ready, the old rude fox dismantled our weapons, and we dropped our shields. We moved to the independent systems to be safe and went to seek out someone reasonable. We ran into some cloaking navy ship. I took a deep breath and toggled the ship's communication system. I request to speak to a representative of the Liberty Navy. As static crackled, a mix of urgency and hope swirled within me. This decision weighed heavily; the lives of my crew balanced against the surrender I was about to propose.

Officer James Silverton's voice came through, a bridge between worlds. I knew that the fate of the Angel and her crew rested on the words I would soon utter. In my mind, a kaleidoscope of memories flickered – the battles we'd fought, the camaraderie we'd shared. Now, as our systems blinked and alarms sounded, it was a humbling realization. Survival mattered more than pride. More than ideology that was broken by the mistakes we made. I thought of Noah who I have sent drifting, who no doubt will try to continue his zealous fight, but for us it was time to come home, to return to Liberty and leave the hopes of being heroes behind us.

My proposal hung in the air, a fragile lifeline. I knew there would be consequences, but I had to believe that my crew's lives were worth the trade. Every second stretched into eternity as if the universe itself held its breath.

[31.08.2023 08:50:25] [L]LS-Angel: t keep going on, I will await the communication

The weight of Officer Silverton's response settled around me, and my thoughts churned. Had I made the right choice? Could I trust the Liberty Navy we fought all these years at all? Doubt gnawed at my resolve, yet surrender was the only path that made sense. The decision was made. As the transmission ended, I turned to my crew, their faces a mix of uncertainty and trust. I had put their lives in the hands of others, hoping that my choice would lead them to safety. Officer Silverton's approach was a brief acknowledgement – a glimpse of recognition that, amidst the clash of battleships, there remained a flicker of shared humanity. In surrender, I had discovered an unexpected hope, a belief that even in the face of conflict, compassion could prevail. Days later, at Bristol Bay Station, I am watching my crew disembark, their futures uncertain. But we are alive, we have a pulse that would be long silenced if we followed Noah.

We now await here, hoping for Liberty Navy's provisions and hopes for leniency. A hope that even enemies can find common ground. We are all of Liberty after all, and I hope they will remembered that.
