I believe Del, actually, good and loyal admin that he is proposed that storage depots belonging to various factions be made available in Connecticut to allow for an initial change of diplomacy. However the primary reason why starting location and reputation were locked in Discovery thus far were tied in with single player compatibility.

Now that we're separating ourselves from that crutch I believe that we're going to be allowing for variable starting locations using a 'default' neutral system which opens into many others. Though don't quote me on that (unless you want to, but we'd both just look foolish).

That being said, virtually every unlawful faction has bribes available to it on neutral points such as freeports and junker bases. Should this ever come up again ponder the idea of a Bounty Hunter alligned pilot flying a Bounty Hunter vessel to Crete to stop in at the bar and get things settled. It might have been the most direct path, but not necessarily the most logical one within the context of a simulated reality.

A more neutral vessel or neutral stop off point, such as Freeport 9, may serve you better in the future.

Furthermore, the admins are all corrupt and they're after my preferred brand of breakfast cereal. Which they have no intention of acquiring under their own merit of labor, but rather seek to remove from my possession under threat of force/hijinks.
