Application: Castor How did you find the faction? What caught your interest?
I first was curious when I noticed the Vagrants being a faction in my IFFs - I thought at first the old Brigand faction had gained their own IFF (which, they kinda did with the Octa Novanium or whatever? Funny enough). This made me research into them a bit, which made me realize Vagrant is a clever wordplay, a synonym of Nomad, so very similar yet with a different connotation.
Have you read the faction writeups? Do you know what a Nomad is and do you have experience roleplaying them?
I have skimmed through it, am familiar with Nomad lore, even read the ancient development document about Nomad Lore, and I have experience roleplaying -with- them, but not as them.
How long have you been playing Freelancer? Do you have experience leading factions, etc.? Have you ever been sanctioned and if yes, why?
March 4, 2003, it was a late 10th birthday gift from my dad I rarely saw back then! I have experienced leading factions, having been the leader of a few official factions (Unioners and Arbeitergewerschaft, Hogosha), have been part of the High Command of a few more (Rheinland Military, Liberty Rogues, Golden Crysanthemums) and have been a part of countless unofficial group over the years. I have been sanctioned through the ages, probably like, 4-5 times, from F1ing to swearing in-game, even got permabanned for Hex Editing in the days of Doj until I returned when everyone was offered free unperma. Now I am an adult with responsibilities and I just need cool people to RP with.
As a Nomad, you are the antagonist. Are you aware that you are to play this role and that others will treat you as such? Do you have a problem with that?
Yeah, I have a problem, they disturbed my Honk Shoo, Honk Mimimi - though more seriously, I think it'd be interesting for once to be on the other side of the coin. Death is not the end for a Nomad after all.
Do you have roleplay experience outside of Discovery? Did you ever play on other Freelancer servers and if yes, which?
I started roleplay in AOL chatrooms, gaia online, was on a few ancient Freelancer server, like that SUPER COOL STAR WARS ONE god it was so good. I also have years of experience as a tabletop GM, and my goal isn't to win, but to tell a story everyone can enjoy. I've roleplayed in too many games or roleplay systems for me to list them all
We have a clear code of conduct. We expect decent behaviour from our members on the forums as well in the game. Do you believe you will be able to do that? Do you acknowledge that your membership can be terminated if you violate the faction code of conduct or the server rules?
Yes.
While not strictly necessary, getting a grip on your roleplaying ability is crucial for our evaluation process. Please provide links to roleplay that you have done on the Discovery Forums as well as a list of character names you use ingame.
