A New Life for the Broken Bird

They enjoyed a morning breakfast. He got a chuckle out of her like of chocolate but then, he never met a female who didn't like it at least a little. He was very much a traditionalist with a base of eggs, in this case, an omelet.
"In time I will chat with the Gallics," he replied. "I do not see why we cannot co-exist with them or any other group for that matter." He sipped his coffee before his next bite.
He wasn't at all offended by the denial of Midori's old wardrobe. She was right and he respected it. In fact, she earned more respect for her reasoning and not wanting to be a part of his past but a part of his present and future. He simply looked at her with a soft smile, nodded and agreed with her. Time would tell where things would go. Testing how things between them would hold up while they worked would say much.

"Work will be a test for us both," he stated. "We will often be systems apart for periods of time. We will both have stressful moments that will show other sides of ourselves to the other but we do have a good base from which to start."

His datapad went off. Excusing himself, he read it and nodded a bit as he did.
"And so it begins," he stated. "Once breakfast is finished, I have a meeting with some surgical staff and then I will be off to Omicron Theta. If it matters, I will keep a private channel between us as I will be at the base there for awhile."

He then closed his eyes for a few seconds in a deep thought to Admete as he didn't want to say anything to draw attention around him. "Admete, you two look after each other and if you need anything, let me know."
He opened his eyes again, smiled, and finished his morning meal.
