I don't think disco's rp is in decline at all. I think its at turning point where game will become more structured.
The current situation where more tradeflow has been transferred to the Houses instead in outer worlds might push some people away, but that is just temporary situation.
with the influx of house corporations and traders in the house systems instead of in borderworlds, the piracy situation in said houses will decline. Especially in liberty, when the solo pirates realize they won't be able to actually pull anything alone against convoys of traders. The new system of things will actually get people closer together because they will have trouble in making it alone. (why you figure out yourself)
but on the single example of the trader convoy actually pulling trough liberty, lone bomber will be no match for them, causing him to flee constantly and by fleeing, being 4 hours out of piracy zone. That will cause a pirate to seek out other pirates, forming the already existing pirate factions (LR, Bucaneers, Mollys, Hessians etc)
With this happening closer sense of belonging will happen, good guidance within trader corporations will teach those new lone traders how to succseed and how to rp properly. The "lol" will actually have to adapt to the policies of the corporations or factions or perish alone. or be very very bored.
for those not interested in factions, the ability of escorts (that will be more requested now) will be avaliable and mercenarys will grow in numbers (just wait, i promise).
With this happening, alot of things will drain from the borderworlds and edge worlds, causing more opportunities for hardcore traders / smugglers that will then again run into outcasts / corsairs and others.
zoners will finally become hardcore and hard work.
As it's hard to actually make it alone in the real world, so will it be in the space.
Arguments that game should be fun, not work is invalid here.
sorry but if you want a pure fun game where you actually have complete control, try single player. its called single for a reason. Multiplayer automatically means other people are there, and game suddenly turns more real. Yes, while you cannot die, you are still interacting with other humans behind their screens. That means that something is deffinatley real there. It's worth to connect with others and find out what is it actually.
As other things that you do alone in the room while staring at monitor, it is more fun when finding another person to do it with. Group up, and manage to make it work and breach out above the line of those that didn't manage to make it work. You'll feel alot better when you actually pull it off.
