Not all cases are metagaming obviously. However some cases are, the implication is that if you make a Corsair indie alt, you can avoid consequences completely. Other Corsairs can't shoot at you. And obviously your buddies on the other enemy factions to Corsairs know it's you and won't log and shoot at you either or come after you. This is true for making any alt from a faction that's actually active and patrols its territory (crazy in 2023, right?) if you by-pass what would normally be a hostile interaction, negotiation, etc.
