It will be my honor to assist in the delivery of your child. Yes, we have been friends and co-workers for quite some time now which makes this all the more special.
Do not think that your leave will be an inconvenience. It is because of you that we have a good staff here that can hold down the fort and give you a much needed rest. I intend to be around awhile, at least, in the short term to get some work done here so do not hesitate to ask if you need anything.
