From my perspective even from the very start you had large ships that have difficulty dodging going ahead/breaking formation and making targets of themselves. This kind of resulted in your main fleet being whittled down until DTR could just push in with superior numbers, I think.

Formation is easier for DTR ofc, they have the station to rally around. A lot of your cruisers and I think all of your gunboats over the course of the fight also broke off to shoot the Reavers and weren't supporting the main fleet, so the Corsairs' smaller ships kind of had free reign to deal damage while their larger ships didn't have any gunboats/cruisers dealing damage to them.

Keeping formation may be easier with the pob deshielding being less of a factor though. Just try and stay a little tighter and cover each other, is a good start. Also consider using Sarissas, like Murmillos compared to Legates they can just dodge a lot more incoming fire.
