Our goal is simple. To learn. To learn of the structures origins. To learn of it's material composition. To learn of it's purpose. To learn if there are any opportunities for expanding our own understanding.

I shall be open and forthcoming with you, Enigma. Perhaps that learning will afford us new capabilities. Perhaps we shall be able to take those lessons and better ourselves. Better the lives of those within the Commune. We shall not be able to say until we've gone through the efforts to learn.

Ultimately, it is simple. Humanity mostly seeks knowledge they cannot understand fully, but we want to understand. Without dedicating the effort to pushing the boundaries of our understanding, that shall never change. If we cannot understand, then how can we as a community thrive? How can we know what to trust and how to grow? How to make meaningful peace, or how to defend when necessary?

Similar to this object of our study, I would like to learn more of you if you'd be willing to indulge me. Would you be willing to share with me data of your kind? Of your origins?

There are three survey vessels operating for Commune 47. The means at our disposal are likely greatly dwarved by the incursions you've witnessed thus far from others. Ashamedly. They shall be operating one at a time to reduce signal footprint and fly under the name Starannist'. If there are units outside of your control, then it cannot be helped. Hopefully, they are open to discussion as well. We shall have the need to stay diligent in our efforts to remain undetected.
