Interesting tidings and strange bedfellows.

Lots of traffic in Omicron Delta this week. I ran into Eternal Journey once again...they requested to speak to me when they have more time in private. As to what they wish to discuss remains to be seen.

What's more, is Lazurith was out at the Freeport sporting a shiny new Freelancer IFF. Quite interesting considering the last time I heard from him, the AI onboard one of his vessels was saying he attempted to "self-terminate". Baffling that he was now out at Freeport 11 with a fresh coat of paint...I'm unsure if Revenant had taken him and his ship somewhere so he could be all fixed up...but that doesn't explain the Freelancer tag. Even more odd, the Order agent there, someone named Empress, was asking some rather interesting questions about my past...even Lazurith seemed to have a hunch as to who I was before. Not something that I want revealed. Freelancer or not, he is still Auxo in my book. Finally, he seemed to indicate that Aspen had been killed at some point. He said she was missing...but knowing her she's holed up somewhere weathering some kind of storm. She never was one to give up easily.

Anyway, I've returned to Leiden for the time being and have ventured back into the hell that is Kepler. I purchased a Bayonet fighter to get in and out as the radiation in the system clogs up the fuel ports on the Hawfinch. It's bad enough Leiden is in a dark matter field of it's own, but at least it isn't as extreme. I've been here, near the anomaly for a few hours now and haven't seen or heard anything...I wonder if whoever or whatever has been passing me info is in a slumber or if it simply has nothing to tell me for now. I will remain here for a day or so and then move on. Perhaps to see what this Eternal Journey fellow wants to talk about.

[+]Eternal Journey Discussion
[21.01.2024 23:57:17] Eternal.Journey: *a brief private line: hello, Crowley. have questions for you... i want to know answers. if youll hear me, i would like-
[21.01.2024 23:57:30] Eternal.Journey: a comms line accessible to talk another time*
[21.01.2024 23:57:49] Crowley: [He chuckles.] You can always reach out via the neural nets if you please.
[21.01.2024 23:59:10] Eternal.Journey: i. do not wish for our communication to be done so there. past experiences and all that. preferably.. ship to ship comms.
[21.01.2024 23:59:19] Eternal.Journey: if thats alright with you?
[21.01.2024 23:59:37] Crowley: I can respect that I suppose. Neural nets aren't always secure...that is if you wish to communicate something sensitive.
[21.01.2024 23:59:46] Eternal.Journey: it is sensitive.
[22.01.2024 00:00:12] Eternal.Journey: and it isnt something i can do tonight, too much to discuss and not enough sleep.
[22.01.2024 00:00:12] Crowley: Mmm. [He considers his next words carefully.] Very well then, name a time and place. I will do my best to be there.
[22.01.2024 00:02:02] Eternal.Journey: it doesnt have to be a set time, or place. just, next time we cross paths, or are here together, when its not so late-
[22.01.2024 00:02:31] Crowley: I would rather it not be at the Freeport. Too many ears.
[22.01.2024 00:02:54] Crowley: Provided the sensitive nature of your...information.
[22.01.2024 00:03:10] Eternal.Journey: we do have ships, we are mobile. a meet up doesnt have to be the destination of our talks.
[22.01.2024 00:03:37] Crowley: Long range communications can be intercepted as well as clear text. Best to meet somewhere.
[22.01.2024 00:04:20] Crowley: [He chuckles.] It's up to you, however. Next we meet then my friend of circumstance.
[22.01.2024 00:05:03] Eternal.Journey: *also chuckles* well, i suppose we do tend to bump into each other as of late.
[22.01.2024 00:05:25] Crowley: Indeed.
[22.01.2024 00:05:45] Eternal.Journey: so its agreed. whenever, wherever, so long as the time is right.
[22.01.2024 00:05:52] Crowley: Very well.
[22.01.2024 00:06:33] Eternal.Journey: well, i best get some rest.
[22.01.2024 00:06:40] Eternal.Journey: until next time, Crowley.
[22.01.2024 00:06:46] Crowley: Indeed, until next time.
[+]Conversation with Lazurith and Company
[23.01.2024 00:27:22] Crowley: Greetings, MFE.
[23.01.2024 00:27:37] [MFE]-Hans.von.Goeben: *Hans smiles and nods*
[23.01.2024 00:28:14] MNS-Cerradura: ?: *nods*
[23.01.2024 00:28:16] Empress: Oh, hello.
[23.01.2024 00:28:33] Crowley: Greetings, again.
[23.01.2024 00:28:42] Crowley: Seems the Edge worlds are quite popular as of late.
[23.01.2024 00:29:35] Empress: Don't think they've really changed much. Suppose you might have some, eh, we'll call them tourists
[23.01.2024 00:29:44] Empress: popping in to see what the Hispanic factions are up to.
[23.01.2024 00:30:02] [MFE]-Hans.von.Goeben: *Raises an eyebrow* Tourists, huh?
[23.01.2024 00:30:07] Crowley: [He nods.] I see. Well, it /has/ been some time since I've flown around these parts.
[23.01.2024 00:30:31] Crowley: At least, regularly.
[23.01.2024 00:30:50] Empress: Well, it's not just "tourists". Zoners see the need to show a little bit of force here and there, too. Make sure the
[23.01.2024 00:30:59] Empress: Maltese and Cretans don't try chewing them up.
[23.01.2024 00:31:04] Empress: Well. Not again, at least.
[23.01.2024 00:31:20] Crowley: Mmm, yes. I saw Freeport 9 on my way in earlier.
[23.01.2024 00:31:26] MNS-Cerradura: ?: I hope they each learn to stop all this stupid fighting...
[23.01.2024 00:31:34] Empress: Wishful thinking.
[23.01.2024 00:31:37] Empress: They're not going to.
[23.01.2024 00:31:50] Empress: It's a conflict as old as time. It's going to keep going forever.
[23.01.2024 00:32:02] Lazurith: Hey, maybe one day.
[23.01.2024 00:32:13] Empress: Sure. If either side wins.
[23.01.2024 00:32:14] Crowley: Ah, Lazurith, how are you feeling as of late?
[23.01.2024 00:32:21] Crowley: Forgive me, didn't see you there.
[23.01.2024 00:32:26] Lazurith: Uh, no problem. Hi.
[23.01.2024 00:32:51] Lazurith: I'm decent enough, I suppose.
[23.01.2024 00:33:00] Crowley: [He chuckles.] Good to hear.
[23.01.2024 00:33:02] Lazurith: Trying to hang in there, and all that.
[23.01.2024 00:33:26] Lazurith: Though, I am really sorry, but you're gonna have to refresh my memory here: who are you?
[23.01.2024 00:33:29] Lazurith: Have we met before?
[23.01.2024 00:33:47] Lazurith: You sound kinda familiar.
[23.01.2024 00:33:59] Crowley: [He thinks to himself tapping his finger on the chin of his mask.] Once, a long time ago. I was a different man then.
[23.01.2024 00:34:23] Lazurith: Huh... and you remember me from way back when?
[23.01.2024 00:34:51] Crowley: I believe so...or I could be mistaking you for another. I meet so many Freelancers as of late.
[23.01.2024 00:35:07] Crowley: We are, after all, a dime a dozen.
[23.01.2024 00:35:26] Crowley: To use the parlance of an old saying, that is.
[23.01.2024 00:36:00] Lazurith: Ha, I getcha. Freelancers are the garden variety type of spacers.
[23.01.2024 00:36:11] Lazurith: Feels weird to be one now.
[23.01.2024 00:36:37] Crowley: [He chuckles and nods.] I'm sure you will handle it.
[23.01.2024 00:37:48] Lazurith: I'd hope so.
[23.01.2024 00:37:58] Lazurith: There's freelance work, and freelance work.
[23.01.2024 00:38:14] Lazurith: Meanin', it's just so... broad.
[23.01.2024 00:38:20] [MFE]-Hans.von.Goeben: *While the locals keep chatting, Hans is typing on a holographic notepad, all while slowly smoking his pipe* Hmm...
[23.01.2024 00:38:46] Crowley: Mmm. [He nods.] Indeed. I've had run of the mill milk runs, and sometimes assassination requests.
[23.01.2024 00:39:21] Empress: Follow up on the latter often?
[23.01.2024 00:39:33] Crowley: Heh. Not often. Requests are just so.../bothersome/.
[23.01.2024 00:39:47] Empress: Not often, but sometimes.
[23.01.2024 00:40:09] Crowley: I prefer to /theorize/ about the unknown rather than taking life. Taking life is such a savage way to be.
[23.01.2024 00:40:28] Crowley: I suppose it would depend on the target and the money involved.
[23.01.2024 00:40:58] Crowley: I am no bounty hunter, after all. [He chuckles and mumbles under his breath "couldn't pay me enough to do that".]
[23.01.2024 00:42:16] Lazurith: Well, there's always the factor of getting the fork out of a deal with your life.
[23.01.2024 00:42:26] Lazurith: Biting more than you can chew, and all that.
[23.01.2024 00:42:41] MNS-Cerradura: ?: Hmm?
[23.01.2024 00:42:44] Empress: There's also the minor moral problem of having to take a life.
[23.01.2024 00:42:54] Crowley: [He smiles to himself.] Sometimes you get the whole buffet whether you like it or not though.
[23.01.2024 00:43:13] [MFE]-Hans.von.Goeben: *To the Outcast* Sorry...I just haven't seen such a design...
[23.01.2024 00:43:25] [MFE]-Hans.von.Goeben: Exotic.
[23.01.2024 00:43:43] Crowley: Being trapped in Kepler taught me that.
[23.01.2024 00:43:51] MNS-Cerradura: ?: Yeah, is a strange one for sure.
[23.01.2024 00:43:54] Lazurith: Trapped?
[23.01.2024 00:43:59] Lazurith: Well, I can relate to that.
[23.01.2024 00:44:15] Crowley: Oh yes, I was there before the storm got worse. Was trapped there for around three years until I managed to find my way out.
[23.01.2024 00:44:19] Empress: Evacuation warnings were in play well before the storm reached its current peak.
[23.01.2024 00:44:25] Empress: How'd you get stuck?
[23.01.2024 00:44:34] [MFE]-Hans.von.Goeben: *Leans back in his seat, still smoking* ...and you simply visit the Freeport here, Captain?
[23.01.2024 00:44:36] [OOC] Empress: in place*, sorry
[23.01.2024 00:44:40] Crowley: [He chuckles.] Research.
[23.01.2024 00:44:49] Crowley: At the time, anyway.
[23.01.2024 00:44:52] Empress: Couldn't help yourself?
[23.01.2024 00:45:15] Crowley: My previous profession as a scientist regularly saw me throwing my life into percarious situations to learn the unknown.
[23.01.2024 00:45:23] Crowley: Now I know better.
[23.01.2024 00:46:14] Empress: Seems odd. How does one just give up life as a scientist?
[23.01.2024 00:46:19] Empress: I bet that man's still in there.
[23.01.2024 00:46:41] Empress: He's just got a new lick of paint and a new title, "Freelancer". Freelance scientist, more like.
[23.01.2024 00:47:04] Crowley: [He chuckles heartedly.] Could be...could be.
[23.01.2024 00:47:20] Crowley: I suppose time will tell on that front.
[23.01.2024 00:47:41] Empress: So. Was it worth it, your extended stay in Kepler?
[23.01.2024 00:47:43] Empress: Did you learn anything?
[23.01.2024 00:48:20] Crowley: I'll let you know.
[23.01.2024 00:48:24] [MFE]-Hans.von.Goeben: *chuckles* Did you get a nice dark glow and tan from your time there?
[23.01.2024 00:48:28] Lazurith: Scary place, that Kepler.
[23.01.2024 00:48:36] MNS-Cerradura: ?: Kepler... *shudders*
[23.01.2024 00:48:41] Lazurith: Storms that'll flay your ship in half.
[23.01.2024 00:48:48] Empress: Have you not had an opportunity to properly analyze whatever data you escaped with?
[23.01.2024 00:48:55] Lazurith: I went there, thinking it was going to be a safe place.
[23.01.2024 00:49:18] Lazurith: ...Rgh. Not gonna finish that.
[23.01.2024 00:49:32] Crowley: Oh, certainly. The data was interesting enough...however that data just winds up being the same. Radio-isotopes this, parts-per
[23.01.2024 00:49:35] Crowley: ...-million that.
[23.01.2024 00:49:46] Crowley: Some days were worse than others.
[23.01.2024 00:49:57] Crowley: Lots of traffic through there recently, oddly enough.
[23.01.2024 00:50:23] Empress: Must've been a disappointment. To overstay in Kepler, but have little to show for it thus far.
[23.01.2024 00:50:30] Crowley: I lost a remote piloted ship there not too long ago due to...issues.
[23.01.2024 00:50:54] Crowley: Kepler is, indeed, a strange and dangerous place.
[23.01.2024 00:51:11] Empress: M-hm. Don't have to tell me twice.
[23.01.2024 00:52:04] Crowley: I have a feeling we haven't heard the last of that system either.
[23.01.2024 00:52:14] Lazurith: What makes you say that?
[23.01.2024 00:52:24] Crowley: Just a...hunch.
[23.01.2024 00:52:24] Empress: Wouldn't miss it. I'd just make do with Galileo as the passageway.
[23.01.2024 00:52:31] Empress: Would want to get Ames' people out, though.
[23.01.2024 00:52:42] Crowley: [He grins to himself but it is not seen due to his face being covered.]
[23.01.2024 00:52:57] Crowley: Only 300 or so left on Ames last I checked. Hopefully they get out soon.
[23.01.2024 00:53:22] Empress: Three hundred copies of you, I suspect.
[23.01.2024 00:53:29] [MFE]-Hans.von.Goeben: *Hans silently squints his eyes, hearing this mysterious statement*
[23.01.2024 00:53:29] Empress: Scientists who aren't willing to miss that storm.
[23.01.2024 00:53:34] Empress: And they're willing to pay the cost.
[23.01.2024 00:53:38] Crowley: [He laughs.] Stubborn to the core. You know it.
[23.01.2024 00:53:41] Lazurith: Well, I was in there recently.
[23.01.2024 00:53:44] Lazurith: Uh, say.
[23.01.2024 00:53:50] Lazurith: There was this...
[23.01.2024 00:53:57] Lazurith: Uh, old nurse?
[23.01.2024 00:54:01] Lazurith: I couldn't read her name.
[23.01.2024 00:54:17] Lazurith: But she was a delight, and she kept talking about her grandson.
[23.01.2024 00:54:57] Lazurith: Erm... she went by... Reynolds... or something.
[23.01.2024 00:55:04] Crowley: Mmm, I think I know who you are talking about. I never got her name either. My interactions were luckily sparse with the...
[23.01.2024 00:55:08] Crowley: ...medical team.
[23.01.2024 00:55:29] Crowley: Except for radiation medication, that is.
[23.01.2024 00:55:30] Lazurith: Ah. Shame, guess you've totally missed me then.
[23.01.2024 00:55:47] Crowley: [He chuckles knowingly.] Indeed. T'would appear so.
[23.01.2024 00:55:50] Lazurith: I really hope she gets out.
[23.01.2024 00:56:26] Crowley: As long as the stubborn scientists peer into things there, I expect the medical team will need to remain.
[23.01.2024 00:56:54] Empress: Imagine most people left on there are in it for the long haul. It's either them or the storm that's going to give way.
[23.01.2024 00:57:01] Lazurith: Ahem. Right! The foolish scientists, who watch the deadly anomalies!
[23.01.2024 00:57:01] Empress: And for their sakes, I hope it'll prove to be the storm.
[23.01.2024 00:57:11] Lazurith: Man. Hate those guys!
[23.01.2024 00:57:26] Crowley: [He smiles at the mention of the anomalies.]
[23.01.2024 00:57:29] [MFE]-Hans.von.Goeben: *chuckles*
[23.01.2024 00:57:39] MNS-Cerradura: ?: Currious as I might be, but whats wrong with Ames scientists?
[23.01.2024 00:58:09] Crowley: They're either crazy, brave, or a deadly mix of the two. They want to push the boundaries of what is known regardless of what..
[23.01.2024 00:58:12] Crowley: ...happens to them.
[23.01.2024 00:58:37] MNS-Cerradura: ?: Ah, makes enough sense for me.
[23.01.2024 00:58:38] Lazurith: Sometimes you gotta pay a price for answers.
[23.01.2024 00:58:47] Lazurith: And personally, I paid a little too much.
[23.01.2024 00:58:55] Lazurith: Not worth it.
[23.01.2024 00:59:22] Crowley: Somtimes you just need to have the money to back up those checks you might write. To parlance an old phrase once again.
[23.01.2024 00:59:58] Crowley: Been reading some ancient Earth literature. Forgive me if my idioms confuse anyone. [He chuckles.]
[23.01.2024 01:01:04] Lazurith: ...Come to think of it.
[23.01.2024 01:01:25] Lazurith: I should've gotten myself in more incidents, to the point of losing a leg as well.
[23.01.2024 01:01:36] [MFE]-Hans.von.Goeben: *Hans looks at his watch* Ah, it's about time I dock and get the delivery done...*He puts the pipe aside*
[23.01.2024 01:01:42] Lazurith: So that I can finally achieve the right to tell people "it cost me an arm and a leg to get here".
[23.01.2024 01:01:52] Lazurith: Hah hah.
[23.01.2024 01:01:52] Crowley: Hah. Nice one.
[23.01.2024 01:01:55] [MFE]-Hans.von.Goeben: Wish you safe skies, folks. Stay frosty.
[23.01.2024 01:02:03] Crowley: To you as well, MFE.
[23.01.2024 01:02:08] Empress: Take care, Hans.
[23.01.2024 01:02:09] Lazurith: Take care, Hans. Thanks for the talk.
[23.01.2024 01:02:40] MNS-Cerradura: ?: Think I have lingered here too long.. best I leave myself.
[23.01.2024 01:02:48] MNS-Cerradura: ?: You all take care now.
[23.01.2024 01:02:49] Crowley: [The man in the cockpit stretches, the actuators in his suit whirring.] Same. I was just about to say the same thing.
[23.01.2024 01:02:59] Lazurith: See ya.
[23.01.2024 01:03:02] Crowley: I think I'll journey through the Taus.
[23.01.2024 01:03:08] Crowley: Been a while since I was there last.
[23.01.2024 01:03:13] Lazurith: Taus?
[23.01.2024 01:03:21] Lazurith: ...Hm.
[23.01.2024 01:03:21] Crowley: Mmm hmm, I used to live there for a time.
[23.01.2024 01:03:35] Lazurith: Let me guess... somewhere around... Java, maybe?
[23.01.2024 01:03:44] Lazurith: Or Ikky, perhaps?
[23.01.2024 01:03:52] Crowley: [He turns his head to the ship floating above the freeport.]
[23.01.2024 01:03:54] Empress: Ought to be fairly safe right now, with the Outcasts being focused on the Edge.
[23.01.2024 01:03:54] Crowley: Perhaps.
[23.01.2024 01:04:01] Lazurith: I was there a bunch of times.
[23.01.2024 01:04:09] Lazurith: Had this friend working for Starlight, she was a gem.
[23.01.2024 01:04:19] Crowley: What happened to her?
[23.01.2024 01:04:21] Lazurith: Man, I miss her something fierce.
[23.01.2024 01:04:31] Lazurith: ...AWOL. Likely dead by now.
[23.01.2024 01:04:44] Crowley: [The man grows abnormally quiet at that news.]
[23.01.2024 01:04:49] Lazurith: Aspen.
[23.01.2024 01:04:50] Crowley: ...I...see.
[23.01.2024 01:04:56] Rebecca.Harper: Ah...
[23.01.2024 01:04:56] Lazurith: Why. Did you know her?
[23.01.2024 01:04:58] Rebecca.Harper: Fuck.
[23.01.2024 01:05:09] Empress: Hello to you too, Harper.
[23.01.2024 01:05:19] Rebecca.Harper: Hello-
[23.01.2024 01:05:21] Crowley: No. Afraid not. Just sad to hear about the death of someone who you considered a friend.
[23.01.2024 01:05:26] Crowley: Tragic.
[23.01.2024 01:05:30] Rebecca.Harper: Well, won't say your name for OPSEC reasons.
[23.01.2024 01:05:34] Rebecca.Harper: But hey.
[23.01.2024 01:05:36] Empress: Much appreciated.
[23.01.2024 01:06:14] Rebecca.Harper: Anyway, hey doll.
[23.01.2024 01:06:18] Crowley: Anyway, I had best be going as well. Long flight to where I'm going.
[23.01.2024 01:06:18] Lazurith: Yep. C'est la vie, or whatever the Gauls say.
[23.01.2024 01:06:29] Lazurith: Take care, sir.
[23.01.2024 01:06:52] Empress: Safe travels. I'd keep a low profile, best not bump into any Outcast supply convoys.
[23.01.2024 01:07:03] Crowley: Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. Doctor Harlow, by the way Lazurith...she will be missed.
[23.01.2024 01:07:12] Lazurith: I concur.
