Drifting serenely around Nebet in a leisurely orbit, with the endless expanse of the gas giant's immense ring system stretching out below it, Memphis is a large amalgamated industrial station, an unexpected sight this far from house civilization. With its exhaust stacks and cylindrical centrifuge modules, it makes a markedly different appearance than the military and survival-oriented stations more typical of the Eastern Omicrons. While not hidden, it is hardly a location any pilot would visit by accident, and there is very little traffic going to and from its bays.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Memphis Industrial, a subsidiary of ALG Waste Disposal.
If you are reading this message, it means you are a holder of Silver Level Clearance or higher per the Space Regulations of the Order Overwatch, and are thus permitted to traverse and conduct business within Omicron Mu.
Since our foundation on November 4th, 833, we endeavor to bring our expertise in metallurgical and chemical industry to a region otherwise lacking in offerings in these sectors. Following our company's focus across Sirius, we specialize in the reconstitution of waste products in an area with difficult access to raw materials, where efficiency becomes necessity.
Our smelters produce a variety of structural and specialized alloys, and our nuclear refinement plant produces fission fuel in various grades. We are also able to accommodate special manufacturing orders with advanced notice, and can offer service and parts replacement for ships.
Memphis Industrial, lobby
The lobby on Memphis is an unusual environment. This far from civilization, little remains of the sleek, streamlined trappings of a corporate base within the houses, both in appearance and in administration. There is a check-in process, but it's quick, informal, just an ID check and little more. No wait times here - not enough ships visit the station to create any. Small groups of people, mostly company pilots and some of the few visitors the station receives, are lounging in the area, waiting for refueling or cargo transfers to finish.
Everything is still brand new on the station, and some of it unfinished - some of the wall segments are furnished completely and even feature abstract artwork, others are blank, and still others, the ones off in the corners, don't even have paneling to cover the electrical lines. In the background, despite the best efforts at soundproofing, the distant clunks and whirs of machinery can be heard.
It is a unique environment; not martial like the stations of the Order or the Core, not rowdy like the Freeports and outlaw stations of the region, nor slick and polished like corporate stations in the houses. A remote but established, rough but secure, efficient but spartan industrial station.
Manufacturing at Memphis
2. Manufacturing & Sales
Memphis houses two main manufacturing segments: The foundry, located in the east wing, and the nuclear enrichment centrifuges, located in the lower wing. Our main manufactured products are a range of structural alloys and fission fuel.
Common usage Ti6Al2Sn4Zr2Mo aerospace titanium alloy is generally available without pre-order, as is 3.7% Pu rated MOX. Other alloys and mixed oxide fuels can be manufactured with advance notice.
To fuel the manufacturing process, the station receives metallurgical and chemical waste from regional manufacturing and salvage and will offer standardized rates by tonnage.
Memphis also operates a hydroponics farming segment to ensure food security, and can offer surplus from its production.
Besides bulk goods, specialized ship components such as reactor elements, electrical circuitry, and cooling systems can be constructed to order. It is advisable to place such orders with sufficient time allowance, as imports of trace elements into the region are time-consuming.

Much of the station - the manufacturing segments and the crew quarters - are off limits to visitors, but there is a limited range of recreational facilities available to the public. These are arranged around the central corridor junction which forms a plaza of sorts. Smoke & Steam, the station's public restaurant and bar, offers filling meals and strong drink in a casual atmosphere. The visitor should set their expectations according to the base's remote location: High starch based foods that offer the best yields for the station's limited space and a handful of high proof distilled beverages make up most of the narrow selection on offer. Employees spending their off time here will readily ask travelers for news from the core worlds, or offer a game of cards or pool.
Adjacent to the bar lie the other recreational offerings - a gymnasium, library and computer center, and a small market with exorbitantly priced consumer products imported from the houses, as well as the station's guest housing facility.
Much of the station's foot and shuttle cart traffic crosses here, and almost gives the impression of a more central locale than it is.
