Guten Tag Offiziere.
Today, I was serving on rotation to the Ost Flotte and was called to join a scouting patrol into Sigma-15. After assembling near Freeport-8 with the Kaiserschlacht and the Ostkantone, I proceeded to patrol around the primary. As I approached Planet Juist, I beheld a curious sight - an Outcast dreadnought all alone in orbit, with various different cargoes. After demanding its purpose in-system, the kapitan let me know that he was waiting for the outcome of the fight with the Corsairs, who were apparently in the system. As I shadowed the vessel while still proceeding along my patrol route, I did indeed get a long-range ping from Corsair elements, which included a Unioner cruiser.
Deciding that this was a far more serious threat, I forwarded my coordinates to the two cruisers. By this point, an additional two cruisers, the Rheinland and the Jutland from BDM have joined the patrol battlegroup. All ships began converging on Juist, while I attempted to draw the corsairs from the nebula. This did not take much urging, as both the Corsairs and the Unioner were confident of their superiority over our forces. Right before the engagement was joined, I also spotted an Order battlecruiser, which did not however join the combat. While things started off well, with us taking down one of the dreadnoughts, the battlefield soon separated, and two of our cruisers were destroyed. We retaliated by taking down one of theirs at the cost of our BDM ally, and myself and Kaiserschlacht finally took care of the Unioner cruiser.
Curiously, at this point we received comms about Blood Dragon vessels entering the system. Indeed, I noticed chatter on the emergency channels which indicated that these vessels were successfully engaging the last of the Corsair forces. As my vessel was dry of both ammunition and repairs, I proceeded back to the Schwerin to get a fast shuttle to another ship stationed on Breuninger in the hands of our Kruger allies. The Blood Dragon vessels, by now formed near the freeport, allowed me to pass. By the time I returned to the scene, the Wetzlar and the Kaiserschlacht were in position to deny any moves further in-system. As I know the Wetzlar's kommandant plans to make his own report, I will end my communication here.
Für den Kaiser! Für das Volk! Für Rheinland!
Hochachtungsvoll,
