We were in the bar of Halifax Freeport with Sadako and dealing with a hothead outcast pilot when we received the message from Lachlan. The bastard wanted to decrease the payment we earlier agreed to and was enough of a fool to threaten us. In the end, he paid as we agreed; after all, he needed it urgently, and we could just sell it to someone else if he continues to play this game.
We listened to the message together, and then, without saying a word, we nodded to each other and started moving to the hangar area with our newly acquired credits. To be honest, while I am happy to meet the others again, I also have a bad feeling and am not sure why. Lachlan did not say much, but still, only the Inner Circle was called to this meeting. Maybe I am just too paranoid; it wouldn’t be that surprising after fighting for so many years.
We answered his call after getting up on the ship and heading to our destination. Luckily, the station is in New London, close to our current location. When we arrived, just like the last time, Sadako stayed on the ship and kept watch while I headed to the restaurant where our meeting was about to happen, which is Queen’s comfort. I was only here once, and that was a nice evening. Hopefully, this night will not be less bad.
When I arrive at the restaurant, I will head to the same room we met last time and get in without any hesitation. I see no reason to knock on the door; after all, I am an expected guest, and no one else will be there other than us.
- Bonsoir, nice to see you all again in flesh. - With the technology of holo communication, it is almost as real as when you see them in flesh, but for me, it is still not the same. I like this way better. When I get closer to them, I offer them a handshake, first for Lachlan and then for Tommy. After that, I take a seat somewhere and wait for things to proceed.
