Part II, Platinum Bonanza

The Calico stumbled upon pay dirt! Three weeks of grubbing in the Sigmas had finally turned up a decent haul. Now, the only problem was finding a buyer.

"Captain's log, now"
The loot wasn't exactly the gold and untraceable credit cards we were hoping for. What it ended up being was...
  • Kemwer Munitions. Order equipment, mostly museum pieces these days.
  • Volgograd Ordnance. Further dated equipment. Word is the Coalition stopped producing these, they seem to be collector's items.
  • Experimental components of some kind. Whatever this came out of, our guys can't make sense of it. We're taking them to Liberty to have an expert look at them.

But then, something very interesting happened. A massive platinum rush in Galileo happened. It was a damn shame the Calico missed it all, only finding by chance an illicit industrial smelter in Colorado days after it had fallen silent. Every cloud had a silver, or in this case, platinum lining, because Lime and his friends immediately took it over, hired a small crew of refiners, and Lime started drawing up plans for something callled Redbelly.

But that's a tale for another time; the Calico had a hold of aging weaponry and no buyer in sight. But he had an idea.
