He about sprayed the fluid in his mouth when he heard the suggestion of dancing when laughed but contained it. He managed to swallow his food before responding. He did so waving his hands as if to say no. "Listen, one thing John Holliday does NOT do well is dance. The dance you suggest is called line dancing and I have never so much as seen it. I have only heard of it."
He was still chuckling at the thought as he sipped his drink. He said nothing more about bad things. He now had a surprise evening with the woman he loved and her presence alone made him feel better. Mahi fish was a favorite of his dating back to his days with Midori. Anytime he was around or in Kusari, he ordered it. He wasn't one for sushi and believed that fish should be cooked and not eaten raw.
His Mahi fish was cooked in butter and garlic with a side of wild Kusari rice. It was cooked to perfection and he savored each and every bite. Once finished, he wiped his face and smiled to her. In the distance he kept a watch on the two suspected Hogosha, neither of whom had looked their way.
Once on their feet, they went over to the bar, his arm around her waist, to pay the bill. The waiter was all smiles as he gave him a generous tip. He then also paid the bill of the Hogosha, anonymously of course. They made a slow walk to the Cowboy bar that she had mentioned. "I suppose while we are here we can check this out." On the way, when no one was about, he turned to her, placed his arms around her waist and gave her a long, deep kiss. It had been awhile and it was needed. They didn't stop until they could hear footsteps to which they continued walking. Doc snickered a bit, "I kind of feel like a little kid. You know, waiting until no one is around to kiss his girlfriend?"
Eventually, they arrived at the Cowboy bar.
