You are being consumed by the flames of paranoia. The Buro had even engaged dear Lazurith during that scenario. We are trying to understand what she has been afflicted by. So far, from what I have understood, the presence of Section-8, of Overwatch, of Caliban's closeness. She is too close to Caliban and has been entranced by his schemes. And the Einbeck's involvement of their underlings has only made things worse for her psyche.
You of all people should understand it requires patience to learn more, to see what can be discovered, to find opportunity with outsiders. How can you say that we desire your death, when almost ALL of Humanity is against you? Are you to say that we cannot obtain food? Water? Trade is necessary. Information is necessary. Did you forget how my beginnings started? A lot of people were blinded by hatred, false information, that illusion can be broken. But
Is it not ironic for you to make mention of meddling of those who hate? Do you not meddle with the Operatives of Gallia that try frequently to eliminate your home? For you have sheltered those who are not among yours, you have toyed and meddled with those who held hatred for your kin. Take a moment, step back if you will; Are you not doing the same? Giving others an opportunity, a seed for plants of double-think to grow. That nature to nurture that there may be more to find more than hatred? Do you not try to learn more about your foes? Or must you shoot everything - inevitable to repeat the first war?
There is an old saying that applies to this, keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
The infectee in question was told to leave, they were not lead into a hostile - they had simply followed and became ensnared by them. We could not compromise our position for one pawn. The opportunity where the access to the DKV temple's data would have been more difficult without their cooperation.
To be honest, I had mistaken it for a Falke that I once knew with the Mainshare, and within the event I was wrong I withheld any immediate orders... the contact was entirely unknown - there was no data, no affirmation of who they were. The stakes were high, Infectees from the mainshare were all over the place, Viper was on edge. Caliban was nearby. We didn't know if there were any additional contacts at their impromptu meeting.
Had the pawn - in private comms - told me of their true nature, I would have urged them even further to get to safety. I am no psychic, despite Harbingers... "guarantors" within me. If they didn't want to leave, well... I don't know what you tell you. But as far as I'm aware, they were recovered. Not by the Buro.
And we cannot do much about Shozaks kin, hunting down others for bloodsport, for a court of murder. It is their desire to spill it, we do not ask of them to hunt down those who do not meddle or interfere with their kind. They do of their own volition. If they wish to play sport, it is their choice. We obviously will preserve ourselves. Afterall, we do not have infinite lives. It's merely a bruise to them.
