IRP Name: Valerie Collier Age: 20; DOB 03/15/814 Height: 5'5" (165cm) Weight: 112lbs (50.8kg) Biography: Along with my sister Aurore, I grew up on Planet Houston in the town of New Beauxbridge. My family lacked much in the way of means, but provided for us as best they could. Of course, we repaid them by getting involved in scuffles and trouble and giving them the indignity of having to see their kids behind bars. The experience was enough of a stressor to cause the onset of Schlesinger-Myers Syndrome, a tier-4 acquired chronic fibrinogen deficiency inherited in the womb from exposure to certain heavy metals found in residue from the Dallas Incident. My parents invested a lot keeping me alive and treated, but I was practically bedridden for most of my teenage years. Only time I ever went out was with my sister on those ride-alongs, otherwise I was mostly studying in hopes of getting an Ageira-sponsored scholarship.
That all changed with our first trip up to space. It was there that my pains and aches, my vertigo... it all stopped. I felt in my heart that I needed to be in the black, and joined Aurore in enlisting in the Navy. With the opportunity provided by my treatment, I was able to push past my symptoms and reach a state of fitness to serve. In my time at West Point, I was able to acclimate well to the way of things and found an aptitude for spaceflight. Soon, I was assigned to active duty.
What's your motivation for joining our fleet?: The Fifth Fleet's reputation speaks for itself. I hope to be part of keeping that reputation and tradition for excellence, working within a tight-knit group over the more informal Secondary forces. I also hope to find a way to put my aptitude for academia and research to better use.
OORP What kind of experience do you have on Discovery?: I've been in many factions, led some, and done all manner of RP, PvP, trading... over a decade of experience by this point. I consider myself especially adept when it comes to making and fleshing out characters, really getting into them and trying to help them come to life. I've also done military play in the past and am hoping to get back into it with this.
