LF compared to VHF

hull is secondary to the ability to dodge fire and size itself. - actually, i consider light fighters mk2 fairly powerful - a bit more than they should be, but thats just subjective.

they do have 2 weapons less than VHFs and "only" mount 2x lvl9 and 2lvl 8 weapons. - the usual setup is to give them 2 shield breakers in the lvl8 slots and 2 faction guns in the 9 slots. - they can dodge enemy fire easily ( or much easier than bombers or VHFs ) and can strip VHFs shields fairly easily. - it may take more time to destroy a VHF or a bomber, but since they cannot be hit easily, its simply a matter of time - but not power.

in a team, they are most efficient. - two LF can easily overcome 2 VHF - and the more fighters are involved, the easier it gets. - imagine one LF to be equipped only with shield breakers - it will be able to keep the enemy shields down all the time. - the other will simply damage its hull - the hull doesn t regenerate and once out of bots, the VHF will die - slowly, but steadily.

LF fight different from VHF though.... those that joust in them are at a disadvantage - they often use their superior turn rate more than the strafing ( i think ) while the VHF rely much on strafing and jousting. ... against most bombers, a LF can simply stick to the bombers back ( make heavy use of CDs of course ) - and pummel it down... the bomber will not have a chance to fight back, cause the LF can outturn the bomber all the time. ( unless the LF allows the bomber to E-kill and turn... but thats what CDs are for )

of course, a LF cannot perform the same things a VHF can... that is burst damage. a VHF can simply add a lot more firepower - but is much more vulnerable than a LF.

thats just generalization - of course a blood dragon HF ( VHF if the ID card was correct ) is actually superior to a decurion corsair LF mk2 - or a griffen civilian light fighter mk2. - but usually the LFs are faster and much much harder to hit... and when you can damage your enemy while he cannot damage you, - you wiill win - or at least force a no win situation.
