The feed opens on a public camera in the Freeport 11 concourse. Various small shops and eateries about, the same fountain which Hanamura and Mieko ate at the day she first stepped foot in the physical world, still standing. The installation is lively, as souls from all walks of life move about their business. The camera zooms in on Mieko, leaving the Docking Bay entrance area, out into the Concourse.
She is adorned in a casual t-shirt and pleated black skirt, blue stockings with black boots. She walks subtly towards the elevators to her right, and heads inside one. She seemingly is alone, as the camera switches to an internal view of the elevator.
Just as the door begins to close, a hand goes to stop it. A Kusari brunette catches the door's auto-release sensor with said hand, opening it. "Excuse me!" she says, as Mieko is taken aback slightly. The girl steps inside, and looks to the elevator's control panel, to see the 3rd Storage deck selected. Mieko looks to the girl, who turns around. "Sorry, gotta squeeze in for my rounds." the brunette says, smiling softly.
"I think I know you.." she says as the door closes. Mieko shakes her head. "I'm no one important around here."
"You were Hanamura's friend, right? Hon..na?" the girl answers.
"Honya, and I go by my proper name these days." Mieko answers concisely. "But.. yes."
"Oh! I'm Megumi. I'm one of the maintenance heads around here, I was actually one of the people Alexei taught back several years ago when you guys handed the base over to Saskia."
Mieko smiles a bit. "Good to see a friendly face, then. How is Saskia?"
"God knows where. Back in 825 she left us high and dry out of the blue and OSI more or less runs the show now since IRG fell apart." Megumi responds, visibly a bit irritated.
"Lord knows we could use Hanamura around here again. How's she?"
".. no longer with us." Mieko answers coldly. "I'm actually here to collect some of her things."
"Oh.. I'm.. I'm sorry." Megumi says, as the elevator finally arrives at its' lowest point.
The door opens as Mieko goes out. Megumi tries to wave her down as she follows her.
"You need any help, maybe? I'm just down here to check on things." Megumi comments, wanting to help her.
Mieko turns around, shaking her head. "iie. I will be fine." she says, before walking off alone. The depths of the storage complex underneath Freeport 11's main concourse, was opposite its' revamped and fleshed out residential section, just shy of the station's heavy docking birth. Mieko made her way through the base, going off of old records. Eventually, she would find herself at a terminus of the cargo complex, the view of Tuvalu and Nauru in the far distance.
She looks to the storage unit - it was large, and covered by a simple metal rolling door, protected by an external biolock. Mieko sighs at the sight, knowing full well without Nodoka's hand she can't get in cleanly. Not wanting to bother with the burdensome bureaucracy of OSI, she lifts up her shirt, revealing both a black lace bra -- and underlying Virgo pistol. She primes it against the lock, and fires. A sudden burst of energy, and loud buzz is heard as the pistol fires, vaporizing the biolock's upper half, the slag of the remainder falling off the lock's retaining hole. Mieko places the pistol back in its' holster, and pulls up on the door. Inside, as she opens, she notices a sizable amount of boxed equipment, various belongings and what seems like blocks of gold. As the door opens, a note falls from the railing above, onto Mieko's head.
The girl picks up the note, and opens it. It's clearly in Nodoka's handwriting.
Mieko-chan.
I hope this message finds you well. If you're reading this, then chances are I am gone. I stowed this cache of gold and ship weapons here along with whatever I left behind on 11 after we formed the Ouroboros. I'm sorry I cannot afford you more than this. I'm sorry I can't give one last goodbye. One last hug. It pains me to write this, even when I know you are not too far away in the present. But I hope this will find you well without me. Pass on the kindness I afforded you. Leave Sirius a better place than I had.
I hope you and Bride.. if she is still alive, do well for yourselves. If worst comes to worst - go to Leviathan. He will see you through.
Nodoka
Mieko tears up at the letter. She holds it close to her chest, and smiles slightly. She then takes the note, moments later, and places it within her left breast, snug between her mound and the cup of her bra. Her attention is grabbed by the large crates at the end of the storage cell. She takes a nearby crowbar, and goes to the crates, and takes aim at the top-most one. She takes the straight end of the crowbar, and stabs it directly in the joint of the top and front parts of the wooden crate. Aggressively, she pries open the crate, the creaking growing louder and lower before the wooden, bellowing pop manifests. Mieko gazes forth to the box, seeing the contents. It's a large ship-mounted cannon, unlike what she had ever seen before. On the receiver and base of the cannon, a marking can be made out.
OUROBOROS SANZUDEVGRU
DAC/R-100A 'CELERIS' TACHYON CANNON
SSAWSC CLASS 3
Mieko grasps the cannon's barrel, feeling the cold, dark metal slide along her hand with ease. The gun was a series of prototypes that were made with Elena years ago, that never had a chance to see production - one of the few developments of Ouroboros proper, that never saw production due to the faction's fate. It seems this one, and the other three, were the only ones ever made. She is in awe of the sight, and goes to seal up the box, as best as she can. She proceeds over to a nearby Ageira Vindicator android. She examines it, noticing various rewirings and scorch marks from a blowtorch. The android was cold and metallic. Mieko takes a cable that ejects from the nape of her neck, and runs it to the back of the android, connecting to it. Whilst the android does not fully initialize, a core startup shows the firmware to have been flashed by Birdie 10 years ago, with the system's health otherwise good, save outdated operating system. It seems that on top of disarming the android for Emilia, she would have to do extensive work on it to make it ready for her.
She disconnects from the android, and secures the cable back inside her shell, and proceeds over to a nearby large object, similar to a cloaking device. The device evokes a smile from Mieko's face, as takes out her interface cable again, and hooks into it. Her vision lights up with a terminal, interacting with the device. It is a 'Birdie' Doppelganger Holographic Suite, the technology predating the formation of Graham Technologies and their time in Auxesia, she simply marked the manufacturer metadata, as her nickname.
Megumi comes around again. She doesn't mind the destroyed lock on the floor, knowing full well the circumstances as to why. "Hey.. you sure you don't need a hand? I can get one of the hover-dollies out."
Mieko turns to her. Hanamura's words about kindness echo in her mind. "Yes, I would love a hand, Megumi-kun."
