New London - 817 A.S. - Recently, in the wake of Lord Mountbatten abandoning his claim to the throne, Bretonia has been in an uproar. Many have viewed Lord Mountbatten's statement with great relief, while others are disappointed in his decision to back away from his claims. Still others have assumed that his surrender was a lie intended to get Queen Carina's Royal Forces to relax their defenses in preparation for a major offensive. Everyone was praying for a restoration of peace, no matter which side they followed.

It now seems likely that peace will prevail, now that Lord Mountbatten has returned to New London along with former-Admiral Florence Haye and the surrender of the HMS Sovereign to Her Majesty's Fleet. After their arrival in the New London spaceport, Lord Mountbatten and Admiral Haye were apprehended by the Royal Guard and placed aboard a maximum security transport for transfer to the Royal Detention Facility at Marborough Pile on Planet Leeds where they will await trial and, most likely, execution for their actions against the Crown.
