Kameraden.
Schønning here, speaking from Aralsk shipyards. Kamerad Frei will be most excited to hear this. I have taken helm of the Hurricane-class battlecruisers Coalition has provided us with, and have evaluated their technical condition, performance and how accustomed our crew is to new ships. Results are reassuring.
Had a lengthy conversation with the crews of Thorkell and Askeladd. Discussed extensive drills, flight, combat and fire trials on dummy targets - feedback is mainly positive, main regrets referring to "sawed off" Tsar cannons, the notorious trademark of Hurricanes. One I share, but that's not something we can change. Unfortunately.
Got to see one of the trials with my own eyes - Hurricanes pitted against smaller, more maneuverable craft, and against each other. All with dummy ammunition, during which I evaluated Hurricane maneuvering and convenience should well suit the intended purpose of operating in Omegas rocky fields and outmaneuver the more bulky Corsair hulls.
There's another important matter to take note of: Coalition engineers and our crews both reached the consensus of necessity to replace the standart-issue Coalition proplusion system to easier accessible to the Front. Upscaling Vidar engines would take additional and unnecessary time and effort, while we have a readily available solution - the VP proplusion system, widely used and available around Rheinland to military and civilian pilots. I'm sure a backhand deal or a... confiscation can be arranged to suit our needs.
There is little else to add. Thorkell and Askeladd are ready for departure and will leave for Wolfsburg on your order, where we can run final trials and retrofitting as necessary - it'd be wrong to take advantage of hospitality granted to our assets by our allies.
