Typically one would expect an explanation as to why any of these deliveries are being made. If you're having Optronics delivered, what is the intended use of them, are they being used for some sort of automated system meant to help with the large berthing areas that would be required of a shipyard? If you have Robotics beign delivered, are they meant to be used to build robotic arms mounted to the gantries that are used by a shipyard for component assembly? If you're being told you don't have enough RP because all your RP is just people dropping things off on a base and being paid for it, then you need to explain why you need those things to be delivered.
If one actualy reads the several steps in the Roleplay, you will see every single material presence is justifyed within the RP itself, if any parts remain unexplained, these should be present in the RP named: A New Kind of Power", in wich we even explain many things in detail.
So on one hand we did justify the usage of materials as well as its placement location as well as the "why build a shipyard" obvious question.
BMF usualy has its Rps conected or related so one thing takes to another instead of separate events spawning all over.
First we built the shippy: Lord MacRae Shipyard https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...811&page=2
Here you can find how the water purification systems actualy work in Space, details explained properly in their entirety.
Then we research the tecnology we are going to use on it Research Project and intalation trials on Isle of Skye (this is why Isle of Skye has a small shipy inRP that can only repair ships) https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...963&page=2
After we moved it, we went back to the Lord MacRae Shipyard and made some transportations of materials to atach the 2 structures to eachothers.
We went as far as even giving actual sizes and tecnical names to what we do:
You cant possibly whant us to explain in detail why we "used a screw driver to tighten screws."
Regarding the timestamps,
A shipyard construction has many phases, we tried to separate the construction of the super structure from the hardware instaled inside of the base.
"One thing is the box another is the furniture." so the player who claimed we took 6 months to build it he referred to the "box" leaving out the rest.
Regarding the "why BMF needs those materials needs to be explained"
Well this is an easy to anser one,
All materials have their usage on their own infocard, so as a Competent corporation we are not going to exlain what every single item does as we expect the workers we are adressing to know their stuff.
This is my way of saying that if you dont know what a given material does or is used for... its not your fault, after all, who are the construction experts if not the ones who actualy build stuff?
As an example:
Optronic Arrays Commodity
Optronic Arrays are data processing centers and control nodes manufactured with Optronics and Optical Chips. Large scale arrays for space stations and complex computation systems are usually preassembled and programmed at a planetary factory and shipped to the fabrication site, where they can be activated immediately after installation.
Optronics Commodity
By stringing together arrays of adaptable Optical Chips connected with gossamer thin webs of organically spun glass waveguides, a new type of computing machine was created. These Optronic devices utilize almost no moving parts, consume very little power, and operate at the speed of light. Because Optical Chips can almost instantly reprogram themselves, Optronics excel at the kind of signal processing and computation that underlie a host of practical applications ranging from Consumer Goods to ship avionics.
Optical Chips Commodity
The Optical Chip is a tiny electronic component featuring a general-purpose array of optical switches that can be programmed and instantly reprogrammed to perform nearly any function. Rather than using electricity, however, beams of light transfer information almost instantly, making general-purpose stateless computing machines possible. Optical Chips are the core components in the new field of Optronics on which all advanced technology is based.
So i try to avoid redundancy and left out the boring stuff.
But point taken, will be more detailed on the "why" and the how things are done. edited: That Border Mining Force ID= what i remenber from IMG ID with a diferent name... i even nerfed it so it cant have BCs or BSs hehe and was also part of sarcasm...
I would also take the oportunity to recognize my mistakes, it is true i might not be the best OF Leader around, it is also true that sometimes my patience runs away from me like any one elses.
But the fact is, a lot of work was put into what we do,
One way or the other, a lot of commitment and dedication as come from BMF members.
For many many years our bases stood tall and were openly used by all players, specialy Isle and Fortitudine, we could simply have them closed like some do.
It is dis-heartening, in many ways, to see how our work and contributions, no matter how small or diferent they may be, is looked at by some menbers of the comunity.
It is very sad to see this indeed.
My idea was to get something constructive going on, have decent inputs... how naive of me...
BMF will do as it always did,
Help the beginers to start playing and roleplaying, mining, trading, crafting and turret steering, and all the things we can think of that can make them "fall in love" with Disco,
And yes i gess we will take the heat for them... when they screw up, and they surely will,
Not because we like it but because thats what the beginners do and someone has to show them the way of the rules with love instead of a stick. (at least at first hehe)
We will supply bases for the ones who cant for watever reason,
these pob owners have dedicated to a base for years, yes we are going to help bases that are open to general public to use, because its the right thing to do.
We will make RP (even if some dont like it) with whoever asks us to,
Because other players also deserve to get a shot at RP no matter if they are good or bad, they wont improve if they dont RP for sure wouldnt you agree?
We will give other factions trade routes to our instalations,
Some factions simply get fed up with always trading to the same place and want something new to do,
We sacrifyce other activities so we can have space available for materials and stuff we will never actualy use, and its ok, we like watching ships dock to our bases.
