It is only fair since I did not cause this problem, I have had my base for at least 5-6 Years and always help Unlawful and lawful corporations pretty Much Equally. CORPs have to pay for it, But I donate Free loads to Unlawful to help them in there difficult times . on a fairly recent time as a way to help out.

Requesting to have a Peaceful option opened up for Discussion if you would be so kind. and see if we can find some way to work together Smile

Swiftwing...

Since you posted your ooRP post in an RP thread, I'm going to respond to it here, @SwiftWing. Many people have tried to explain this to you before, and it seems it's been fruitless, but I am going to try again.

Discovery is what is known as a "roleplaying community", which means that we play the parts of characters (as in a story, like a novel or a film), rather than simply acting as players in a game. This is not a game like Planetside, or Helldivers, or Team Fortress 2, or Starcraft, or League of Legends, wherein the entire conceit of the game is that the ingame universe exists solely to facilitate the mechanics of the game. Rather, the conceit of Discovery is that the game mechanics exist to allow us to roleplay.

In essence, roleplay means acting within the universe, and attempting to simulate the behavior of a real living human, just in a world that is different from the one we live in in real life. It's somewhere between acting and writing. It is a fundamentally collaborative endeavour in that we are all telling stories.

Unfortunately, because it is in fact still a game, there are certain limitations placed on how we interact with the universe. If, in the course of mod development, our star systems need to be changed for lore reasons or gameplay balance reasons, in order to keep the game fun to play so that we're all encouraged to continue writing our stories and playing the game and living these roles together, we as players have to adapt to that, and with an unspoken nod of mutual understanding, adapt our stories and the ways we play the game to these new changes. This is how we maintain our kayfabe, our sense of immersion, by suspending our disbelief at the ways we have to adapt our roleplay.

You have been affected by (I refuse to say "been a victim of") this exact sort of mod change. You have had many options to deal with this, as mod changes detrimentally affecting POBs and their owners is something that the staff team has long been very understanding of and thus provided free POB relocations for.

It was not only your responsibility, but your obligation to pursue these options, so that your player-owned base could continue to operate in a way which made sense within the lore of the game world -- in this case, specifically with the dynamics of Sigma-15. You failed to do this out of laziness and a lack of consideration for (or understanding of) the roleplay environment. Now you are suffering the consequences of your lack of attentiveness.

This is not unfair, and this should not have been unexpected. Regardless of your free aluminum (a practice of yours I've never personally observed or heard mentioned), you have to understand that a group of politically-minded, anti-corporate, anti-government terrorists such as the Bundschuh would not take kindly to a Daumann installation right outside of their own base. Yes, your base was at those exact coordinates first, but you seem to think the exact coordinates matter when what really matters is how that coordinate position relates to the other objects in the system. Again, you had ample opportunity to address this matter.

The Platform siege of your base is not intended to grief you or victimize you or drive you off the server. It is us, the Platformers, playing out the role of our characters within the roleplay universe. If anything, your lack of ability or willingness to respond in kind is functionally griefing us (as well as the rest of the server, which only ever benefits from more roleplay interactions), which is why the siege of your base will progress as stated within the roleplay thread and the rules-mandated ooRP siege declaration post.

I would suggest that, if you don't intend to attempt defending the base, you instead get a load of 5ks (which I know you have) and grab everything useful off of your base so that you can cut your losses as a player. I would further suggest that the next time you attempt to build a base, you do so with some consideration for the roleplay environment in mind, and monitor said environment as well as any relevant mod changes so that you can interact with other players in a way that is healthy according to the intents and fundamental concepts of what this community is supposed to be.

I sincerely hope this post helps you out in some way.
Are the the siege and minimal roleplays really the most creative and in character Bundshuh roleplay response of towing a Bundie base to dangerous vicinity of a mining station you guys could come up with?

That seems very lazy for political activists no, when roleplay is your primary goal?
