OVERVIEW

There is something Kusari has been searching for, something Kusari needs, sequestered deep in the Omicrons.

In recent weeks, the Kusari Office of Intelligence "Chochinbi" Special Operations Division have been operating at fever pitch, ranging across the Sigmas and Omicrons. Independent explorers who raid desolate alien grave sites for Artifacts have been vanishing without a trace, snatched by unmarked ships lurking in the nebulaes. The Chochinbi don't know precisely what it is they are looking for or where it will be found, but they know it will be recognised immediately when it inevitably falls into their possession.

A new strategy has been devised - machi no ryō. It has been a long-standing arrangement for Kusari authorities to turn a blind eye to the Hogosha's business with the Corsairs, in exchange for skimming the most intriguing Artifacts for their own use. The Chochinbi have set their net aboard Kabukicho Depot where they will confiscate and scrutinise every inbound Artifact before releasing them back to the Hogosha's care. The Hogosha bristle at this unprecedented discourtesy and breach of protocol... quietly.

The Chochinbi have seized the son of Masakatsu Lei, a powerful Hogosha boss. Tarou Lei was an impetuous bōsōzoku, who has been implicated in a fatal hit and run collision on New Tokyo. His father's influence might normally have allowed him to slip away from the scandal, but now the Chochinbi want something desperately, and they are willing to burn bridges to get what they want. Tarou has vanished, taken into custody by masked intelligence officers. Simultaneously, vast rewards have been offered should the Hogosha succeed in sending unprecedented quantities of Artifacts flowing towards Kusari. The promise of blood or treasure.

As this plan begins to bear fruit, the signs do not go unnoticed. The sudden increase in Hogosha activity in the Sigmas immediately attracts the attention of the GMG. Attempts to crack down on smuggling and other illegality has been one method of feigning an illusion of control over the unruly Sigmas. Artifact smugglers in particular leave a especially bitter taste for the GMG, after their own eviction from the trade several decades ago.

Similarly, the Chrysanthemums have also noted the increase in Artifact smugglers, striking the vulnerable shipments in part to settle scores against the hated Hogosha patriarchs, and part to seize desired cargo that can be bartered for Liberty's guns and luxuries aboard Leiden. Next, Blood Dragon and Order agents had become aware of the Chochinbi's activities while carrying out joint operations against the concerning developments in Tohoku. They have quickly connected the dots and are now looking to disrupt the Artifact shipments before the KOI find whatever it is they are scouring for.

DETAILS

Incentives:
Week-long

Hogosha will receive a bonus on the sale of Artifacts, purchased from Crete and sold at Kabukicho (~15 transport CSU).

Convoys

Corsairs, Hogosha, and KuWild will receive a kill bonus against GMG, BD, GC, and Order in event systems (400k).
The GMG, BD, GC, and Order will receive a kill bonus against Corsairs, Hogosha, and KuWild in event systems (400k, 800k for Hogosha kills).
Each event frigate will be worth 1.5mil, split among the characters displayed in the kill message.
Relevant SRP ids will be included in the configs.

NEW
The convoy will use the following route: Freeport 9 -> Lagos Depot -> Kamisu Hideout. At each point, ALL ships will be able to re-supply, and must wait for at least 1 minute before moving on (from the time the last Frigate arrives).
The convoy frigates will have less armor.

Rule Changes:

During the convoy, only cruisers and below are allowed to participate.

NEW
During the convoy, the respawn timer for all event IDs is reduced to 5 minutes.

Rewards:
Custom Title
Requires an INRP write-up about the event from the point of view of your character. A link to the post / thread in the roleplay forum should be linked in this thread.

Hogosha Gunship
Requires at least 25,000 artifacts shipped. Choose between the frigate or gunboat when claiming your reward - they will be outfitted with a basic loadout.
OR
Volunteer to pilot a convoy frigate, and keep it (minus the armor upgrade).

AHRIMAN (x4)
Requires at least 5 kills on any leaderboard. You may post here if your combined total equals to 5+, if none of your characters individually scored this. Rewarded once to each eligible character.

In addition, ~10mil has been transferred to the recorded slayers of the event frigates.

Based on these numbers, BD-Honor, DTR-CNS>Cimitarra, DTR-CC>Kyreniam, DTR-CC>Divine-Shield, and Cazadora[TBH] will receive 4 AHRIMANS (AHRIMEN?).

Meanwhile, <|>Takara-Mf, Chino, Crimson.Lotus, Fujikawa-Maru, Hibiki-maru, Ibaraki, Itou, Jade.Wyvern, Kaney.Hako, Mitsuyu & OrangeOne, M-Transport, Namazu, Seiryu, Soratobu.hamaki, and Zaibatsu.Trader are all eligible for a Hogosha frigate or gunboat.
