Any time this ever comes up, it's people, often Nazis, wanting to make Nazi references while pretending they're not actually doing anything wrong and are not actually making Nazi references.

(They always are. Every time.)

Just don't do Nazi references. It's not hard. There's no grey area, just don't do it, it's that simple. Anyone trying to make an argument or discussion out of it is always intentionally trying to make their overt Nazi references and maliciously trying to convince everyone they're not.

"They're just Wehrmacht pictures nothing to do with the Nazis" - No, you're a Nazi trying to get away with it.
"It's just a character from a TV show it's not an actual Nazi" - No, you're a Nazi trying to get away with it.
"Insert blah blah blah here" - No, you're a Nazi trying to get away with it.

Nazis are losers. Just don't do it. Easy win.
