Are you tired of being outnumbered? Brought the wrong ship class? Your enemies keep restocking at bases or running away? Well then, look no further! Your problems are over: introducing the Scheduled Event™! With the Scheduled Event™, you can control who your enemies are, when they show up and even where they are! Say goodbye to random interactions.
the mention of "ganking" has been around since forever (this thread is quite funny to read nowadays). Talking about it in 2024 can only mean that it is a chronic, unfixable, persistent issue that will never be fixed. It's always the same thing over and over again.
the game and server rules allow this "problem" to be solved through two relatively easy options: events, which are protected by the server rules, and Connecticut, protected by the same rules.
outside those controlled environments, everything and anything goes. People react to a ping, log their ships in their favorite faction, and go in for the action. It is that simple.
"Log the other faction!" - "No! I like to be corsair", says Jimmy the new corsair. "Stop firing, Jimmy!" - "No! I didn't log to do nothing! I want to use my new guns!" - and so on and on.
What will even factions do? Kick Jimmy out of the faction? Will this solve anything? Did this ever solve anything, or now we have trigger happy indies going around? Will the OF faction tell the indie to stop shooting an enemy? If the DTR tag didn't exist, would these complaints exist?
In the end, people log their ships to play the game they way they want, and you can't do anything about it. There's no wiggle room for a rule-based approach, either, or people will start getting sanctioned and banned left and right. Mostly groups of new players or indies. I don't even know how banning people for playing the game within their right as given by the rules would be justified.
I've been hearing a lot of "DTR should follow the OF standard/etiquette/etc" - this goes against DTR's principles. It is no secret to anyone that DTR is a community, not a traditional faction. This is reflected by DTR's member count and monthly activity.
DTR faction information Wrote:(...) but if you're looking for hardcore PVP or hardcore RP activity requirements, that's not us. (...)
Instead of blaming others/DTR, try to be like DTR and get new players interested in your faction so you have better numbers in the future. Create scheduled events.
Regarding today at Delta, the battle started even, and Wild/Nomad players logged off when they saw DTR, unbalancing the upcoming battle.
