Yuto Akira, reporting in. I was assigned to the Battlecruiser Aichi on this day, with orders to relocate the vessel to New Tokyo for refitting. The vessel was launched from Yukawa in Honshu at 15:40, several minutes ahead of schedule. This resulted in the arrival to New Tokyo at 15:45, where a Freelancer, desigwas present at the jumpgate. Routine stop for cargo inspection revealed that he was carrying restricted goods, Wildcat Gold.

At first he hoped that I would not care to uphold the law, then hinted directly at a bribe, labelled carefully as "tax evasion". I reminded him that our Empire's Laws state that only Kusari-based corporate entities are permitted to haul the goods. As is my duty, and per the pilot's request for accurate law citing, Section III-1 was delivered over the local channel.

I decided that seizing the cargo without the pilot also incurring a fine was the best course of action. Despite being under-equipped for the purpose, the seizure was attempted. They tried once more to issue me with a bribe, this time in the name of a "temporary license". Upon my honour as a part of the Kusari Empire, this was unsuccessful and the Freelancer fled to Planet Honshu. We pursued, but found me and my crew to be ill-prepared for a pursuit. They succeeded in escaping, despite our best efforts.
