Why did you never become good at PvP?
[SNIP]

• If you’ve never tried to become good at PvP, why?
  
• If you’ve tried to improve but stopped somewhere along the way, why?
  

I’ll reserve any and all judgment, as well as my own personal opinion, on this topic.

I cannot say i am bad in PvP but nor good in PvP ... my skill using snubs is kinda limited actually, i can beat even the hardest NPCs, but if dare to play PvP probably is part due ping (having ping above 150ms~) plus having to face enemies which possible have more skill than myself, in the old good times of discovery that left me with a bad flavored thing, do commerce and buy better, bigger and bulkier ships so if i face an snub i would outrun with power (and you see one of the first ships i got was the old Koimanu, Kusari BC and you see me heh ... pursuing a snub on a capital ship ...
We talk in times where Phantoms were a thing and hunt you down wherever you were, damn skilled pilots ...

Then i don't have a good "Energy management nor aim" so with 3 strikes it left me with last one

Damn ping, while i shoot it was a thing for me i shoot or barely shoot someone, plus my favourite snubcrafts were not the best ones, Mjoinlir, Begermilhr, Juni's Defender Enforcer...
Missiles don't worked and sometimes if the player was dumb enough you can fit yourself full missiles and when he comes at you you blow him with a ridiculous barrage of missiles ha ha, so fun, good times, but there was a thing...if for some reason you dared to hit a nuke, a too close impact on missiles, or the battle last enough, you can get without missiles, and unless you know how to strafe him, well, you get death anyways ...

So my skills never improved, i can fight on fighter and sometimes i can shine, but sometimes even against a no bot/nanos player with half life if i take too serious i have received surprises of being me fully equipped with nanos and so being killed by them ...

So ... Skill + Lag + whatever you wanna add in here + not much liking on snubcrafts = Fail at PvP ... (But hey, sometimes i can outsmart and shine in PvP ... depending on the ship)

I have tried to improve but you know, in this server you can't "look for action" (or you get sanctioned as always ¬¬) ... then as a KPR i became active in capitals and snubcraft (mainly bombers) while still avoiding fighters, there are moments where i can say i improved on doing so, after all ... is just part of feeling "good" on your ship instead of just "playing by force" ... and because at that time ... best ships were ugly to me ... ( but we had one Magphie SHF Black-Plastic colored that i can say i was sufficently good enough, even when i still died 99%, now is 95% because i wanna "shine" :v )
