A couple of days had passed while Anamnesis walked me through the various upgrades that were needed. We reviewed all of the data and came to the same conclusion: We'd need to go to Gammu.

"Well, that went a lot better than I thought it would." the AI stated.

"Surprised that a Hacker knows things about tech?" I said asking critically.

"Well, yeah. That and that a meatbag could conceptualize what I was saying to him about advanced technologies beyond normal Human comprehension." it added.

Ugh.

"Tell me what I can expect at Gammu." I said as I packed up the room I'd stayed in for a few days.

"No idea. I haven't been back there in decades." it responded.

"They get tired of your shit too?" I asked.

"Oh ha-ha. Laugh it up Hacker boy. For your information no they didn't kick me out, I left."

"At the risk of getting an exposition dump, why then?"

The AI sighed, or what could be construed as a sigh.

"Remember when I said when I wanted to be mortal? Being that close to other Gammu AI, not to mention the node on Gammu itself, muddled my thoughts. Even when you go there I'll have to go into a state of hibernation just to avoid dealing with it. Well, that and avoid being detected by the others. That's why you'll have to do the 'shopping' on your own. I really hope you don't come back with a potted plant instead of an Artificial Fulcurm Diode Inhibitor." it said exasperated. "Don't asking what it is, you wouldn't understand."

I pinched the bridge of my nose in irritation.

"I can't wait until you hibernate."

"Bite me."
