The Scarman Enigma

Starwood Hotel, downtown Los Angeles Capital

The towering hotel block was one of the tallest buildings in downtown LA Capital. Standing nearly one hundred stories high, the tower added to the dense forest of buildings that made up the downtown area. Twin beams of light soared into the sky above, flanking the large illuminated word Starwood. Aircars and starships cruised by, their headlamps creating a strange effect along with the maze of lights that lit up the LA night sky. Floating landing platforms drifted idly about the hotel at different levels, offering close parking to its patrons. The landing platforms were airborne by powerful ArtGrav systems which kept them aloft indefinitely.

Tyrant Scarmans stolen Thunderhawk came to rest on one of the floating platforms, hydraulic columns of steam venting from her ventral ports. The forward access ramp swung open and Scarman strode out with Connors close behind. Victoria walked behind Connors, her arms bound to her sides with a long length of rope and her mouth gagged with a strip of tape. Connors carried the limp form of Heather Scarman over one shoulder.

The miserable convoy strode across the landing platform to the floating access dais, a smaller section of the landing platform that broke away and took its occupants across to the tower block its self. Marcus waited until the others were on board, ignoring the deathly looks given to him by Victoria. He stepped up to the single console on the smaller platform and punched in a code. With a click, the access dais disconnected from the landing platform and buzzed away idly towards the towering form of the Starwood Hotel.

Seras Victoria glanced over her shoulder as the three HiME agents sped towards their targets on their jetbikes. Miyu Greer and Harada Chie were close by, keeping their heads down as they sped along the open freeway. Seras looked back in front of her, noticing a pair of red lights up ahead.

A four wheeled vehicle roared along the cracked concrete highway, flames occasionally jetting out of its exhaust pipes. Whatever this vehicle represented, it was obviously meant to be loud. Seras pulled up along side the speeding vehicle and inspected its occupants. Three youths sat in the car, one at the wheel. They all looked too young to be driving. Seras thumbed the throttle on her jetbike and sped past the roaring ground hog, her two comrades doing the same.

She chuckled as she imagined the shock on the youths faces as she ate them up in a matter of seconds. Gunning her jetbike, she bolted off ahead, her thoughts returning to the task set out before her.
Ive got a fix on the last known location of the Admiral, Miyu voxed across the HiME Agents private channel.
Excellent, Seras said, dropping her bike back several meters to allow Miyu to take point, Lead the way.
The three jetbikes bolted off into the night, turning off the highway down a narrow backstreet.
