Today's second patrol was a routine patrol without any major incidents. I triangulated a few times between New York, Pennsylvania and California. It was very quiet, in contrast to the previous patrol, which, by the way, still intrigues me.
At some point I came across a Heavy Tanker whose pilot was in a great hurry and did not notice my greetings. As I found his behavior suspicious, I activated the cruise speed to approach and check the contents of the cargo. Nothing illegal and after checking the cargo the pilot responded. Since everything was OK, I exchanged a quick word and continued my patrol.
Some time later a Bison-class heavy transport whose pilot also seemed to be in a hurry crossed my path. The ship was registered to the DSE corporation and the cargo was also legal. The pilot was not responsive, but since everything was OK with the cargo I figured he must have had a bad morning. I continued my patrol.
Some time later, I came across a hostile signal on the radar identified as a Techno named "Venus" near Norfolk Shipyard. At the same time, the events of the previous patrol rekindled my curiosity. As I was activating the cruise speed to try to get closer, the signal disappeared from the radar. I chose a direction and tried to locate it. When I was almost giving up, a message appeared on the local channel. It was him asking if I was following him.
The conversation that followed took place without my radar locating the signal of the Techno ship. I imagine he must have been using some kind of cloaking device. He did not seem aggressive, quite the opposite. I asked if he knew a Techno named Revenant who was one of the characters involved in the previous patrol. They knew each other, but it seems that Venus was not aware of the events in which Revenant and Empress were involved.
A Freelancer approached while I was talking to Venus. He remained quiet and since an analysis of the ship's cargo and equipment was in order, I didn't bother with him. After making sure that Venus posed no threat and was not involved in the events of the previous patrol, I said goodbye to the two and continued with my patrol, which ended without any further noteworthy events.
