Okay, admittedly i only made it through to the top of page three. But. Here we go.
These PoBs (that y’all know by now its me who reported them, for a couple of reasons) have been the bane of my existence for some time. Iota. Of all places. With PoBs. Each of the, were deployed solely for encounter farming. Each of them solely served the purpose for an escape from the nomad players that sometimes come to hunt encounter farmers. I myself have been both a hunter, and a hunted.
The biggest counter-argument to one of your posts @R.P.Curator is that. Well. I wrote it in another draft and it rolled out like the Star Wars Intro Wall. So the short version: Most times, a hostile would see a nomad login. And run immediately to PoB and logoff. Thats not generating activity, or interaction.
Second point, again from one of @R.P.Curator’s posts, is the way they were found. They were found because the farmers were dumb enough to login and out after being noticed as being in Iota. Some logged in after one PoB had died and tried to leave the next PoB, others died to the encounter, logged off and logged back in again in Iota. One was followed by a cloaked vessel to PoB. This last one was found because of both a Hegemon and a Core indie were seen in Iota. Theres no forum hunting these PoBs, theres just a trail of people working out that other people are around, and utilising them to locate their prize.
Now. All of you also know that i do al ot of encounter related activities. And i can tell you firsthand that Iota encounter is soloable. As in, you can farm it, on your own, without external help. Yes. You can do that. Its *better* with a second person. Its actually slower using a PoB (flight time is pretty far, where a carrier can sit maybe 10k away from the centre of the zone and be relatively safe).
For one of @Lythrilux’s posts. If you wanna farm it, farm it. Its okay to farm. Just don’t be the guy that farms and then logs off whenever shit gets slightly complicated. The encounter used to be in Psi. That was so easy to farm, I was able to do 600 rolls in 6 solid days of farming. Total time investment? I think i worked it out to be 35 hours or so? 76 Concussion drops, 7 Defence Mortar drops in that time. I also hold the fastest time roll of doing it, with a friend as a carrier (two minutes, twenty-two seconds between code carrier kills). Its slower now, but it needed that tbh. Theres a lot more here that makes things simple and easy to farm, and i would explain how i do it (even someone else pointed out stuff that i had to test for myself, and it actually works more reliably than the other method) but this is about the PoBs more than the encounter.
Each of their infocards changed that got declared on. Now, idk about you but things like “Fuck you <person name here>” being added to a PoB, thats unaffiliated (so nomads could even dock with the thing), independent Pirate and i think it was a Freelancer one? Is a little bit extreme. If you want to stick up for *that* kinda behaviour, you kinda expose more about yourself than you realise.
I for one am pleased i dont have to hunt OORP hidey holes of Humanity in my homeworld. Now one has to put in some effort to get anywhere with it. And you can call it crying, but i took your advice @R.P.Curator, the advice you gave me in Order discord. “Report it if you think they broke the rules”. Now you call the reporting “crying the loudest”. At least show some consistency. Yknow. Don’t give advice if you’re gonna bitch when its done and staff decide based on that.
Now i shall read the rest of the two and a half pages i havent seen yet.
Edit: I have caught up and i have so much more to say to people, but it is quite literally aggravating how blind some of you are to the issue at hand.
