Subject: Report - 12/30/834 | Escort of CDI Convoy
Fox here. The following report details the operation to escort a Bretonian Police (CDI) convoy to the Texas system.
Our forces were due to meet the Bretonian convoy in the border world of Magellan, lying betweeen the Kingdom and Liberty space - at Cordova Shipping Platform.
The Bretonians reputation for punctuality held firm, as they appeared from the Manchester lane not long after I had linked up with our escort fleet designated for this operation, consisting of the Akhetaten and several snubcraft including my own. The CDI convoy was headed by their prison liner, the HMPS-Tayloe, carrying, from what I can gather, Bretonian "expats". The combat-capable ships in their formation consisted of nothing larger than snubcraft, numbering nearly half a dozen. We were additionally joined by agents of the LSF, who no doubt wanted to find if "expats" was code for "undesirables".
We were just about ready to get underway, headed for Planet Houston, Texas, when out of the gray-blue clouds of Magellan - a Lane Hacker appeared. His identification is attached. One singular snubcraft was no threat to our operation, so our minds immediately went to the prospect of a scout, reconnoitering in preparation for an ambush further down the line in Magellan, or in the California system through which we were headed.
The Hacker served no purpose but to needle us and the Bretonians with insults, yet he persisted in following us to California despite Captain Brown's warnings that further interference would result in his termination. Finally, at the New York gate, several of our snubcraft were ordered to take the Hacker out. A brawl erupted between Specter, an LSF agent, and the Hacker. I was ordered to continue with the convoy, therefore I was not able to witness his destruction; I am told he gave our forces quite the fight.
The Convoy traveled through New York without further incident, arriving at Houston with the Liner unscathed, releasing their passengers to immigration authorities on the surface. We rapidly turned tail back to New York, and then California, where the aforementioned scuffle was still underway between the loudmouth Hacker and our men with no decisive blows struck to any ship. It was smooth sailing all the way back to Cordova, where we broke off before the CDI convoy entered Bretonia.
It was a mostly uneventful operation, all things considered, and the target of our efforts reached its destination without as much as a spilled cup of tea, so it was a job well done in my book.
In service to the Republic.
