12th of January, 835 A.S.

To the Voigt Family,

It is with the deepest regret that I must inform you, Mr. and Mrs. Voigt, of the tragic loss of your son, Wilbert Voigt, who was killed in action on the 12th of January, 835, within the Kunashir Cloud in Sigma-17 while fighting against the Corsairs.

This letter comes from me, Kurt Wallen, captain of the former Rheinland Federal Police gunboat Aachen—the vessel where your son served as my second-in-command. It may be unknown to you whether Wilbert revealed his actions during the Rheinland Civil War. Allow me to clarify his role and actions.

When the Unioners were controversially accepted into the Kaiserreich's forces, the crew of the Aachen chose to side with the Federalists. Even after the signing of the Holstein Accords, our distrust of the Kaiserreich remained high. Together, we joined the Bundschuh political party, aligning with its Platform sect in hopes of fighting for a better future.

During the most latest sorties against a Corsair battlegroup, Wilbert was entrusted with the command of the gunboat Fekkel. His courageous leadership and sacrifice ensured the substantial damage of the Corsair flagship, dealing a significant blow to their forces and preventing further terror against our people. His actions saved countless lives at the cost of his own.

Unfortunately, his remains were not recovered from the battlefield.

Please accept my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy for your loss. Wilbert's bravery and dedication will not be forgotten.

Sincerely,
Kurt Wallen
Captain of the GFS-Aachen
