1) What sort of space ship flight experience do you have?
Please describe any relevant spaceflight training, time spent piloting various types of vessels, or missions undertaken that would apply to the role of Ship Captain. I have many years under several different Liberty Corporations, most recently Universal Shipping. Prior to this, I worked my way up through the ranks of smaller transport operations, learning most roles, which I think makes me a better captain today.
2) What sort of experience do you have in navigation and trade?
Tell us about your experience navigating through different sectors, managing trade routes, or handling cargo shipments. How comfortable are you with using navigation systems, managing inventory, and coordinating trade deals? Whether the larger corporations or the smaller organizations, trade is just a matter of systems - keeping your records and reports organized is key. Some of this I learnt through Universal and other operations, but much is just common sense so you can easily pull charts, daily trade data, and current cargo up on a monitor at a glance. I am very experienced in the art of trade, and have become extremely well versed in all lawful systems.
3) How are your client service skills? Can you describe a situation where you used these skills to best serve the needs of a customer?
At Interstellar Transit, we prioritize exceptional customer service. Share an example where you went above and beyond to meet a client's needs or solve a problem to their satisfaction. Much of these examples would likely exist from Universal - their redeeming qualities included on-time or earlier deliveries - often via massive convoys. Exceeding customer expectations by matching what the next competitor could do in offer, but bringing it in quickly by just focusing the contract was their forte - and it resulted in a lot of repeat business!
4) Have you had prior experience dealing with local military or police forces of any houses? Any difficulties to report?
Navigating through various territories may sometimes require interaction with local security forces. Have you had any prior experiences with military or law enforcement, and how did you manage any potential conflicts or difficulties? Most of our assignment involved friendly interactions with local house forces - most often just a check-in about local hostiles or even asking for an escort if they were available was the extent of the conversations. Anytime past that was typically items the head office hadn't sorted out with paperwork, so we'd just report back the issue and adhere to the officer's conditions until resolved by HQ.
5) How do you deal with hostile factions when piloting a ship? What factors do you take into account when formulating a response to their demands?
In high-stakes situations, you may encounter hostile forces. How do you assess the situation, prioritize crew and passenger safety, and make decisions when faced with threats or demands from hostile factions? In transport vessels, you really have no choice but to listen and look for opportunities to emphasize with their strong feelings on their local cause - most demand some bribery to calm some nerves but in the odd case where we've been turned back - it's better than them opening fire... calm, cool, and collected all the way.
