I can't remember exactly how this goes so I'll just write OOC for simplicity's sake...

Formerly Mantrid, aka George Woods of the long-defunct Slaver's Union (anyone remember that [SU] tag?), who once prowled the asteroid fields and helium clouds in my "Pilgrim Liner" with my IRL best friend, who was my second-in-command. That was before all the nonsense that got us banned... Oh well... Water under the bridge!

It's been more than a decade since I was last here, before player bases were such a big deal, and before that silly Gallia storyline was even a thing. Since I've been gone I've switched careers twice, took up writing - I've written more than a half dozen novels, one of them based on the 3-year-long [SU] roleplay that ended in disaster, dozens of novellas, scores of short stories and hundreds of poems, so I've been keeping those skills sharp - and indulged in all my other hobbies, none of them related in any way, shape or form to this server.

However, I had always wondered how Disco was doing; I really felt the nostalgia, deep in my core. I actually bought Photoshop and learned how to make cool tags just for this game! Talk about dedication! Anyway, imagine my surprise when I googled it last month out of the blue only to discover (haha) that it was not dead! It'll be nice to see how things have changed in my absence. Though I would like to include an important caveat to my return...

After more than a decade of being away, and all the other stories and roleplays I've been involved in on other games and servers, I've come to the conclusion that I probably don't want to actively RP on Disco anymore. The strict rules about Freelancer lore are just too stuffy, and if we're being honest, the original lore wasn't very thrilling to begin with. Don't get me wrong, the vanilla story was pretty good for a video game of the time! But if I HAVE to RP around it... Well... Moving on!

I think I'm just going to cruise around the cosmos, trading completely innocent, absolutely not-illegal cargo, and blowing up the occasional Xenos and Corsairs, because some grudges never die. Haha! So, if you happen to see a Captain "Manny_B._Goode" or a "Henry_J._Fate" flying around, you know who it is; just an aging Freelancer with a dark past, looking to see what's out there for the second time. I've already got about a dozen hours on the server, and I'm sure I'll get a few dozen more. We'll see how much trouble I don't get into this time. Happy trails!
