Igiss, i remember you mentioning your ISP had a few problems so the server wasn't functioning correctly.
been thinking about the current 'lag' situation and looking into what you said. and i'm beginning to think it is out of our hands.
i used to be in a gaming clan called -=BSFE=- and our server was hosted by the leader in Northern Ireland.. we had the same problem that we have here (lag, and failed connections), and by using MS DOS to trace the route taken to get data from my machine to Nth Ireland we found out that it was a damaged cable/ server somewhere along the line from his ISP (AOL)
i have not tried tracing the route for the discovery server, but it does seem familiar, so maybe check with your ISP again? as i'm not sure if its the same with other players, but i've been getting reduced connection speed to your server. (max about 10kb/s while downloading from the site) if the ISP doesn't know or has no explanation for the problems then it could be a damaged international cable somewhere in Russia? as you said you didn't have any lag yourself locally, but users outside of the country do.
just a few thoughts from past experiance and my IT Training.
