Commander, Agents.

While I am far from reaching any conclusions at this given moment in time, I could present you with what I was able to gather so far.

Let me begin with an obvious elephant in the room - even though my equipment is far superior than the second rate stuff you can find at a regular flea market, any attempts to record phase readings have resulted in white noise. However, after recording the said noise, I ran a cross-reference check with regular spatial anomalies and other known natural signal interferences, the kinds you'd encounter in the nebulae or Jump Holes that have gone out of phase alignment. The "noise" itself, although not lacking for any said frantic readings, is consistent. Whether emitted by the planetary installation or if it's a byproduct of the entire process - I cannot say. Both cases are equally likely.

Attempting to retrieve any readings with probes is also out of the question - only six out of twenty probes that were dispatched on Sudbury's surface could return a signal, with those six landing outside the array's active area. On the other hand, that did help me narrow down an approximate interference radius to five thousand kilometers. All of that means I have to count on my own experience, visual observation and practical research, although my probes are currently running a deep sub-surface survey routine to see how far down the interference can reach and how the entire process affects the planet itself. Needless to say, the survey routine will take approximately two weeks to yield any results.

Simultaneously, I am performing a manual visual observation of the array. I have many guesses and hypotheses on what it could actually be, but I'll share something I already did with Agent Senator. What I am about to say is nothing more than guesswork with no concrete evidence or proof. While I can't deny the possibility of it being a superweapon, a more likely scenario is that it could be related to hyperspace one way or the other. I assume that the array itself could merely be a response to a signal that travelled through hyperspace, while the installation is attempting to send the said signal back and establish a stable hyperspace corridor - identical to how Ageira's Jump Gates function.

Yet this is where I hit a roadblock. The array's azimuth travels through space that has been entirely enveloped by a Dark Matter Storm. My telescope can't penetrate through this blackout. I am also unable to deduce whether the signal is travelling through the said storm or if it's attempting to reach something within it - the closest discovered system aligned to the trajectory would be Tau-37, but it's too remote from the installation. So it's likely that the array is pointing towards something within the Dark Matter Storm, with the Storm itself being the reason why the installation's response is "delayed".

So far, that's everything I have. I require additional time to submit a more definite conclusion, but I am leaning towards this so-called Hyperspace Window hypothesis.

I will get back to you when I have more to say. Do not expect me to follow a deadline.
