Heyo, K'Hara|Du'Fre-Ka,Soh'r and Wilde.Vedrfolnir here. When the time comes, there will be a post or two on participation. Got alot to write at the moment.
I will however state that I do wish to claim the Cloak Mk. 2A, once the postings are finished and put up (i am aware I have an outstanding one from last weeks event but i have an awful lot of lancing to do and theres both only one of me and one braincell in operation on this. Don’t worry, ill get there… eventually.)
Faction rewards will be addressed when the time comes, too. We (Wilde.) are undecided for the time being.
Thank you for a mass murder event. Personally felt that the balancing could be looked into a bit better, as we had similar issues to last weeks sieges. Respawns should probably also be tweaked on the sides, depending on the circumstance. The move to Ontario of half the Order fleet was both welcome and amusing, but not what was desired.
It might also have to be said that event participants should have to group up, because it was noted that while the /gs showed correctly numbers, some groups deliberately formed several different, smaller groups or remained outside of their grouped up main force. This skewed the balance viewing of Day One. I should also point out that just because we had 28 people in that group, not all of them were locked in the main fight. Some were in different systems, some were in different areas of the same system (part of the blockade efforts). we not once had all ships in group fighting around one location.
We also were not aware that the sieges were not mandatory, meaning we could have just arranged an area to all fight that wasn’t in that godawful rockfest of a nebula lol. That meant we were right outside both bases when we didn’t need to be. Probably less than optimal reading on my part. It also hindered our real objective.
For those who have views on transports being engaged. In an event like this, they are very much counted. You are completing an objective that we are attempting to prevent. You are participating, and therefore you are both a valid pvp target, and a valid player counted in the numbers. Primarily because… well. You had combat ships hauling event goods. You didn’t really need transports at all to be fair.
To answer the “abusing respawns” issues that came up. I did make note of some Order vessels doing such during the event, and i kept tabs on the aliens side. From what I observed, both by docked ships and by those that were posting their respawns, we were adhering to it. There may have been one or two that slipped through the cracks, but 15 minutes is a drag when respawning, and a breeze while you’re in combat. Alot of us were commenting on how in the situation where we were being overwhelmed with numbers that we still didn’t have event respawn timer reduced to compensate. Instead, what happened was, half your forces got beamed to almost the furthest system from Mu.
Neither side is devoid of blame for excess numbers on people. Everyone did it. Except Core, who just had the unfortunate happenstance to meet the *entire* Siege fleet and decided not to log for it again. I don’t blame em, but at the same time… the Core side last week just steamrolled Zeta. Maybe this happens to be a bit of Karma for that? Idk.
All in all, the event concept and writeup was awesome, the balancing was a little ass both ways at some points and theres probably maybe tweaks that need to be made to these kinda events in future.
