Subject: Report - 02/16/835. | Pirate Gunboat
Greetings, Command.
Ensign Scarlet Sharp reporting in with a flight operations update.
Today’s patrol led me to Colorado border control, where I linked up with Captain Brown of the Navy and Agent Megan Adkins of the LSF. Traffic was light, and the patrol remained uneventful for a time. Civilian transports moved through the lanes without issue, and local security forces had no immediate threats to report.
However, our routine patrol was interrupted when long-range sensors picked up an unauthorized vessel approaching the Colorado system—specifically, a pirate gunboat broadcasting the callsign Kraken.Chew. The ship, heavily armed and clearly not in lawful service, made no attempt to disguise its presence.
As soon as the vessel identified our patrol, it immediately altered course and began retreating toward the New York system. Recognizing the potential threat, I took the initiative, with Agent Adkins in pursuit, to intercept and prevent the vessel from disappearing into populated space.
Engagement in New York System
Our pursuit led us through the trade lanes and into the New York system, where we managed to corner the target at the Colorado jump hole. At this point, Kraken.Chew no longer had an easy escape route and decided to engage.
The battle began as soon as I locked weapons and moved into attack range. Agent Adkins was slightly behind, providing cover and assessing the situation. The pirate, knowing he was outnumbered, fought with aggressive hit-and-run tactics, using his gunboat’s superior firepower to pressure my ship.
The fight was intense. He focused his primary weapons on me while attempting to evade and reposition. Despite the heavy fire, I managed to maintain control and counter his movements with precision strikes. As the engagement continued, Agent Adkins moved in for additional support, drawing fire and providing much-needed suppression against the target.
Unfortunately, during the firefight, Agent Adkins sustained critical damage to her vessel, forcing her to eject. Despite the setback, I maintained pressure on Kraken.Chew, preventing him from escaping or finishing off the disabled agent’s pod.
Eventually, after a prolonged exchange, I landed the final decisive shots, destroying the hostile gunboat and neutralizing the threat. With the pirate eliminated, I quickly moved to recover Agent Adkins' escape pod and ensured she was safely extracted from the battlefield.
