While patrolling Omicron Theta, our group intercepted signals on emergency frequencies. The decision was made to conduct a covert reconnaissance. The scanning probe detected two groups of ships. Further identity scanning revealed the presence of Corsair and Zoner ships. The Phoenix Zoners were being defeated and were retreating to the Sigma-17 system.
After receiving the same signal, a group of Red Hessian patrols came to our location. Having discussed the situation with their commander, it was decided to attack the Corsairs and save the remnants of the Phoenix fleet. Given the overwhelming advantage of the enemy, emergency channels called for reinforcements.
Our appearance was unexpected for the enemy. The first strikes destroyed the coordination and cover ships. This gave our combined group a chance to hold out until the Hessian reinforcements arrived and completely destroyed the fleet of Cretans. Their remnants have taken refuge on Freeport 9.
Long-range scanners indicated a heavy Corsair fleet approaching. Taking into account the fulfillment of the task to rescue the Zoners, and the destruction of the advanced forces of the Corsairs, the absence of heavy cruisers in our group, it was decided to return to the place of deployment.
