MISSION #1-835 - ONTARIO COMBAT OVERVIEW
FOR OFFICIAL USE

INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION

Since the early summer of 834 A.S., the Ontario system has been the center of attention for many prominent factions in Liberty space and on its borders. Due to an unknown structure on the planet Sudbury, the Technocracy and Nomad forces became new visitors to the system, and began making constant forays into the planet's orbit. This drew appropriate attention from the Lane Hackers, Liberty Free Republic, and Liberty Security Forces. Thus, LSF Battlecruiser "Lehigh", was moved into the system, preceded by an emergency reconnection between the Ontario-California Gates.

In addition to all of this, a new phase of the Battleship Atum pursuit of the Battlecruiser Wyoming brought both into this system, adding to the participating parties' Infected and Order forces respectively. At this point, each side has the following goals:
  • For Nomads and infected people - to get their hands on the Daam'Kvosh structure and use it in possible future.
  • For Technocracy - to get a structure for their further research and development of their own technologies.
  • For Liberty Free Republic - to get a structure for their purposes against Liberty Republic and keep Ontario system guarded on their own.
  • For Lane Hackers - to get a structure for their further research and development of their own technologies.
  • For Liberty Republic - close access to the structure to conduct further research and preserve the sovereignty of their state from outside attacks.
  • For The Order itself - close access to the structure to keep information leaking into the hands of third parties, potentially jeopardizing the survival of humanity.

The main players in the theater of battle are still the Lane Hackers, Liberty Security Forces and Liberty Free Republic. All other parties are partially involved due to their distance from their logistical centers, which makes it difficult or impossible to move larger forces. The Order presence in the system is more likely justified by its long pursuit of Wyoming. It was only by coincidence that the Order became involved in the Sudbury Anomaly, and as a result now also takes an individual interest in the planet.

TACTICAL OVERVIEW

For a clearer understanding of the information, all designations have the following legend:
  • White lines indicate the movement of combat forces of neutral or Order-friendly groups.
  • White dashed lines indicate the movement of logistic convoys of neutral or Order-friendly groups.
  • Red lines indicate the movement of combat forces of groups hostile to The Order.
  • Red dashed lines indicate the movement of logistic convoys of groups hostile to The Order.
  • The directional lines from bases/regions indicate whether those routes/regions belong to a particular faction. For example, all lines coming from Battleship Atum belong to the Order side, and lines from Fort Ramsey belong to the Liberty Free Republic side. Same thing is working with Battlecruiser Lehigh and Cochrane Depot.

According to the above information:
[+]Tactical data
  1. Technocracy and Nomad forces are making their forays towards Sudbury from the Inverness system. Trying to cross the defensive perimeter of Fort Ramsey, they move deep into the system and reach the planet's orbit before engaging the other sides. Mercenary factions were mostly involved among Technocracy, while the Technocracy itself is partially involved in combat. The Liberty Free Republic logistical route is under constant attack by mercenary raiders, which is essentially the epitome of “hit and run” tactics.
  2. For their part, the forces of the Liberty Free Republic conduct active patrols of their borders within Fort Ramsey and take an active combat role in Sudbury orbit. Occasional clashes with the Technocracy deep in the rear forces them to actively patrol the jump holes in the Inverness and California systems. The longest and most dangerous route for this side's logistical limbs is the "Ramsey - Colorado" corridor, which is frequently attacked due to its length.
  3. The Hacker force begins their start from Cochrane Depot, making a light respite at the gate to Alberta, after which they also advance towards the planet Sudbury. This is basically their main interest, aside from the logistics convoy they are escorting to Colorado. The hackers also see their primary objective as maintaining their sovereignty in the system: Cochrane Depot is main facility produces Counterfeit Computerware.
  4. Liberty forces begin their campaign from the California jump gates. The defensive perimeter built around it makes it impossible for a convoy to attack directly into Ontario, while the reverse side in the California system is vulnerable. Liberty Security Forces raid directly through the Liberty Free Republic logistical convoy, allowing them to both disrupt their enemies supply lines and get on orbit of the planet Sudbury to consolidate their influence over it and the system as a whole.
  5. The Order side makes sorties mostly through the Toronto Station Wreck: taking a brief respite there, they continue moving into the planet orbit. For the most part, the Order forces in Sudbury orbit are rather sparse, due to a completely different priority: hunting Wyoming, which is theoretically located in the lower right corner of the map (possible region marked in red). This is also confirmed by the high presence of infected ships in that location.
  6. As stated earlier, the theoretically infected are in the lower right corner of the system, as is their flagship, Wyoming. Nevertheless, taking advantage of the vast amount of debris in the system, they make periodic forays towards Sudbury, not shying away from attacking Liberty Free Republic logistical forces for maintain supply of the Wyoming.
  7. All other factions and groups are few and not mapped at all: mostly lone explorers Freelancers, or explorers from private organizations, as well as Junkers and criminal movements like the Liberty Rogues. Sometimes it's possible to see Bounty Hunters groups, willing to hunt any criminal elements around.

COMBAT TASKS

To understand the exact tasks, the current political environment between the Order and the other factions involved in Ontario must be kept in mind.

The following groups and factions should be considered the primary combat targets:
  • Technocracy of Auxo
  • Nomads
  • Infected people
  • Liberty Security Forces
  • Any other hostile elements

All other parties should be considered friendly or neutral by the Order (depending on who is encountered). The main task of the Brigade's combat units deployed in this system will be to conduct sabotage operations against enemy logistics groups. This includes intercepting enemy formations and logistics convoys. All missions can be seen in the document below:

All successful operations are to be reported to a secure comm channel to be provided later. I strongly remind everyone that our mission is not to die a heroic death, but to weaken the enemy presence to maintain the integrity of the perimeter around Sudbury. We have no interest in raiding into the fire to die senselessly and stupidly. Don't put yourselves at risk, pilots. I wish all of you good luck!
