I thank you for the update on the status of Malta. It is good to hear of your adaption in our home of Tau-44, and look forward to more flourishing news in the future. I can not say the same within our own quorum.
The days are grief and the quorum is split, it all has to do with the militaries incident with the guild over the Nagapasa liner. During the evacuation of freed slaves from Freeport 10 the liner was caught trying to take the slaves into the Gallic Union. Away from the planned course to Yuma and under supposed escort of gallic cruisers. The military maintains custody of the crew with plans to court martial, while representatives within the quorum are calling for a court trail as citizens. The minister of defense claims that only the guild knew of the evacuation for charter of guild assets and sold out the evacuees. Saying they are guilty of compromising the evacuation. Minister Snow is defending the crew but accused only the captain turning against the guild at risk of his crew. The military hasn't released anything, nor say anything on the matter.
Should the Independent Miners Guild come forward and demand for a court trail for the Nagapasa. It might give the public pressure needed to get through and give the crew a chance to walk with their lives. There are innocent guild members amongst the crew, even if the guild at large is still to blame for all of this. It hasn't helped the guilds image after their demands of expulsions from their stations. The opposition are using it as a sign of guilt, and are looking to push for harsher punishment. Which you have found for yourself to have taken effect on the local economic structure in Tau-44. We need this to be pushed forward to clear the mess with the guild. There were those of us who wish this would lighten things up between the republic and the guild, but that is out the window.
In service to the Republic.
