The disco story at least to me feels very directionless at the moment and like it's being winged on an event to event basis in large part due to the fact that there is no singular antagonist or threat that affects everyone. Nomads are just about the only thing that could realistically serve in that role, and they're instead being watered down with vagrants that were never actually meant to be a huge power player since their inception.
