Objective removal of the armor and bearing structures around the reactor was successful, all safety precautions were taken and all parts were numbered and set aside in the Carthage slipway as we would still need them for the jump to Livadia Shipyard. ALG prepared the reactor for retrieval, all the fluid was drained and the reactor was towed out of the ship.

Unmounted reactor is orbiting Carthage and undergoing final dismantling - everything that will be useful for reuse will be dismantled and stacked, and the reactor vessel and dirty area will be towed on its final journey straight to the crown of the sun, I doubt ALG will take on the task of recycling the dirty part of the reactor.

ALG has audited everything needed for the project and has given us an estimate to build the reactor, I will also contact the Trading and Mining Department regarding required materials. So far it's included of following units:
  • Iridium: 20.000
  • Basic Alloy: 60.000
  • Ablative Armor: 60.000
  • Super Alloy: 40.000
  • Hull panels: 10.000
  • Aluminum: 10.000
  • Gold: 3.000
  • Engine components: 10.000
  • Reactor systems: 1.000
  • Cobalt: 10.000
  • Cooper: 30.000
  • Cryocubes: 500
  • Superconductors: 12.000
  • Bio-neural processors: 10.000
  • Deuterium: 5.000
  • Hazmat canisters: 3.000
That summary should cover all required materials to build a new modern Bismarck type reactor based on classical fusion. The estimate also includes third-party resources - transportation, assembly. The operation can be divided into several stages:
  • Transportation of necessary goods
  • Preparation of Memphis for the construction of the reactor, creating conditions for modular assembly
  • Final assembly of the reactor and installation on Vega
  • Various tests and systems checks
Since Memphis is the preferred location for ALG Due to corporate reasons and heavy workload Carthage is a fully justified step. But it comes at an additional cost, Memphis will have to be retrofitted with additional slipways for modular construction of the reactor. All modules will be manufactured at their facilities and transported to Carthage when ready, where we will assemble it together with their specialists, which will not require much effort from us anyway - it will be a screw-based assembly. The installation will follow, which presents us with some challenges. Since the new plant is actually a twin reactor instead of one old reactor.

Due to 100% power increase in comparison of the classic reactors of the old age it will greatly affect the power distribution system - let's assume that we can cope with laying new signal and power cables, but the rest is a very difficult task, which will force us to rebuild almost from scratch all the modules of automation, control, power distribution from scratch - since the whole system was rebuilt earlier based on the Gas Miners Guild drawings, which they gave us earlier, and the new reactor will force us to rework at least half of the ship. I have reported all of the above to Burton, it will be on his shoulders from here on out. I doubt that ALG will be able to help us professionally with this issue, we will have to rely on our own capacities or look for help from outside.
