I like to try and keep the facts of vanilla "canon" lore untouched when developing new ideas and theories for what happened to the DKV and their connection with the Nomads. Although Discovery is full of well thought out ideas, concepts, and stories, it's also full of not so good stories. Some factions that are supposed to be focused on the Nomads have even lost their plot and instead are focused on pvp or sieging. If we are also including Discovery lore, I echo Civil Servant's sentiment of "The Daam-K'Vosh situation is insane". Discovery lore even has a way of changing depending on who you ask.

You've cited the Napo field before. This is vanilla textures that resemble the dyson sphere textures. It's no doubt that this debris, or at least parts of it, is DKV make. That little piece right there tells me that they had some establishment in Sirius. However, in the Chris Roberts document, he says that most of the planets and resources in Sirius are untapped or barely touched. This tells me that they are not originally from Sirius but had an interest in this space. Correct me if I'm wrong, the Nomads are a DKV creation. To my knowledge, this is fact and not speculation. The nomads are known to be an aggressive species with no known means or interest in communication with other intelligent life. My puzzle is why would the DKV create this species only to abandon them in this area of space? Is there a secret to Sirius that has yet to be uncovered (perhaps in Freelancer 2, we need to start a petition!). Could it have anything to do with alien organisms and cardamine (highly suggest reading Jammi's wiki page as he goes over all of that). Are they protecting other space-ferrying lifeforms from inhabiting this space because of it's dangers?

One theory that I've been mulling over for some time (usually with some edibles) is what if the Nomads ARE the DKV? We know that cardamine and alien organisms alter DNA and RNA of the human species. What if those two items, over generations and time, eventually alter DNA to such an extent that they become like the nomads with a need to spread themselves across space? The nomads themselves seem to only really care about increasing their numbers. Any kind of violence is geared toward that end. What if the DKV also ingested or inhaled cardamine, used alien organisms for terraforming, and eventually turned into what the Nomads are today? There has been no skeletons found of the DKV - what if they are the face hugger looking Nomads, only taken over by the effects of cardamine and alien organisms? Who's to say that this change will bring about wars within humanity to eventually leave us to a small number only to be re-awaken at a time when yet another intelligence species finds us in the Sigmas?

Thank you, Jammi, for increasing my hair loss yet again!

It ain't about what you are capable of, it's about what you're willing to do.
