Legionnaires,
Yesterday's operation to recover the Ven'Gyr went exceptionally smoothly. Our escort squadron arrived to meet a Liparian cruiser near Barrier Gate Station in Coronado, and we beheld the old beast. Her aged Ranseur frame no doubt creaking and groaning to the annoyance of the skeleton crew inside. Our task was to escort the Ven'Gyr, that relic from the height of the Legion's might, to Ferrol Starbase in Tau-44, where it could be nurtured by the Liparians back to good health. We encountered no resistance on our route to Ferrol, despite the concerns of LSF, Kusarian, Outcast, or Gallic involvement. The journey was slow, thanks to the atrophied state of the Ven'Gyr's engines, but the old girl arrived at Ferrol safe and sound.
Our wing's return trip was more eventful. It was requested of me in the moment that I take extensive guncam footage, which is attached below. The attached footage was taken from the time period between our wing regrouping near spotted Kusarian and Outcast fighter crafts in Tau-23, to the moment when we returned an IMG pilot's escape pod and a KOI pilot's escape pod. This incident began with the detection of an Outcast fighter a short distance from the 23 to 44 Jump Hole, 23 side, as the Ven'Gyr was making its final approach to Ferrol. Once the Ven'Gyr began mooring, we rallied in 23, where some of our pilots were speaking with the Outcast. Unfortunately, I was not present for the beginning of the conversation since I remained close to the Ven'Gyr until the order was given to regroup in 23. The footage attached shows the conversation and ensuing engagement. In summary, a Contari Lance pilot downed an IMG fighter, and Promethean fighters applied force to de-escalate the situation. Our pilots tractored in both the miner and a KOI agent. I was advised by Legionnaire Rialto to log this operation as a non-combat encounter, despite the shots fired by Legionnaires.
Both pods were successfully deposited at Freeport 6 in Tau-29, and the squadron continued home. Along the way through Baffin, we encountered an Interspace Barge, which we offered to escort to its destination. Since its destination turned out to be a very short distance away and nothing occurred, there is little else to say about it other than that it reached its destination safely. It was hauling rocket avionics to a Freelance installation in Coronado. Our squadron returned to Valravn without further incident.
